Well, criminals usually begin commiting shoplifting and misdemeanors. Unfortunetly, some of them go deeper. They kidnap, mug, carjacking, burgler and then they see the way with no return. What starts as burglary sometimes becomes robbery, manslaughter or even rape. When felons decide that crime should be turned a job, they also commit fraud, blackmail, extortion, murder, Assault, tax evasion and bribery. Good vocabulary. Thanks again!
17:40 there is still some vocabulary to learn: In the trial (the hearing in a low court to judge whether a person is guilty of a crime), we forgot to mention the plaintiff who issued (accused legally) the defendant (who is assumed to be guilty of a crime). Then, the jury will deliberate to come to a verdict. If either of the litigants (plaintiff or defendant) is in disagreement with the verdict, they might appeal against it (apply to a higher court for a reversal of the decision of a lower court). Hope you find it useful for basic law stuff 😊
You are just one of the best English teacher in this entire RU-vid community. You're not only a great teacher but you are innovative and funny. Thank you for the Lesson! 🙏
Thank you for this very useful lesson! I didn’t have any burglary at home but unfortunately I was mugged a couple of times in my life. In one of these situations I was punched, so the mugger committed two crimes: he committed a battery and he assaulted me...but, thank god, no manslaughter occurred! :-) true story :-) thanks again
You're the best English teacher I've ever known. We've been in Sheffield ELTC for about 9 months. They only wasted our time! But lucky me I found you here. Thank you ever so much.
Aly congratulations! 👏 You are simply exceptional, much more than a talented teacher, you are an all-round artist! 👏👍 However when I was 15 I shoplifted a lipstick that I liked so much from a cosmetic shop 😳
A note; the word ‘hijack’ means to illegally seizure any types of vehicle including ship and cars. We relate the prefix of the word ‘hi’ with ‘high’ as in a high place so we assume it’s something that happens in an aircraft. Although the term ‘carjack’ (or ‘seajack’) is widely accepted, some linguists claim they are not real words. Love all the videos and learning so much from you Aly.
Dear Aly, I really enjoy your videos, they're a nice pick-me-up after a long day at work. The one thing bothering me though is your capitalising individual words that should be in the lower case unless starting a sentence. It might mislead learners into thinking that verbs and prepositions etc. generally take the upper case in English. Apart from that just keep up the good work, you're a very talented teacher!
you re a legend .. i mean.. i'm studying in uni right now but my tutor always tells me that he can sense some non native inhibition from my essay which rly puts me off ... although im not a native speaker, i've been living in uk ever since my high school (you might call it sixth form).. it's just rly disappointing to hear someone keep telling you "ok im not gna penalise you for this, because it's language related issue which obviously you cannot deal with...." this puts a lot of stress on me .. and ive been thinking about whether i should re learn english again .. your course makes more sense to me.. it makes me realise maybe i still need to learn english cos i dont actually understand some subtle differences between words and words... anyway.. you're a legend
Hi, I'm from Colombia, currently I'm a prison guard, furthermore I'm crazy about your work... Thanks a lot for your time and help, this video was so interesting, 'cuz I have to know everything about it and often we have foreign visitors and condemned. Please, apologize me for my mistakes and thanks again. Could you send me a greeting?, please that will awesome.
Hi Aly! Phishing is a type of crime too, right? When someone tries to robber personal information such as passwords or credit card numbers via emails or false web pages. I shoplifted two of those things that causes fireworks (I really don't know the name 😀) when I was a kid. I used just one because my father caught me in action 😀 He made me go back to the store and return the one that was left. That was the worst day of my life 😜 I felt so ashamed! I hated my father for years! Then I understood why he did it 😀
I began watched your videos since you recorded with Carina fragoso and i thingo your topics amazing i've learning a Lot with your nowadays i can call you my Teacher thank you a lot, i almost forget about the crime that hapen in Brazil i believe what everone knows about our problems.
In my country, the President ordered people to trespass all empty houses that they may come across. Loads of people are being mugged, robbed and murdered every single day. Many companies, including those in power, are being accused of bribery. Also, I have even witnessed carjacking, actually, I'm not joking. Plus, many schools have been burgled and children cannot now go to them. About shoplifting, I have to tell you that I've never shoplifted any store. Thanks for your videos I enjoyed it. I delight whenever I listen to a native speaker. Your accent is nice. By the way, the word "violar" is correct, that how we say "to rape".
Man, your class is really awesome, you are more than a regular teacher my friend, thank you for your video, I am looking forward to watching ore of your videos.
You gave the best example to the bribery that reminded me of the bribery in Uzbekistan. It went on the top between 2000 and 2015 . If you broke any laws or not, Policemans could stop any cars that they liked and fined them in that case there was only way is bribe and let you hang on the way but now every single Policemans are provided with bodycamera and voice recorder which controlled by goverment.

All the videos are perfect examples of how we should be taught. Thank you for all your efforts. I evry time look forward to watching a new video and getting a new piece of extremely useful vocabulary. Thank you so much!
I've never shoplifted, but I used to be a biblioklept when I was 5th or 6th grade. Parents could not buy me books, so there was a result :) I adore books! Any time when I enter book store or library, I may get lost there for hours. But no more being biblioklept :)
I am from Slovakia and our famous criminal is our national hero - a forest robber Yanoshik./My classmate, by the way the best student in the class, was very popular shoplifter, he did not have cells for fear and he stole whatever and later sold it for half of the price. He also stole to order. Once when fair took place in our city, me and my friends had a game in which who steals more, wins:)
Here in Brazil a common crime that happens accross the entire country is the noise pollution, which generates health problems in millions of people here but the authorities just ignore it and if you call the police they will ignore you as well. My family and I have to deal with disrespectful neighbours that do lots of noise at weekends. Could you make a lesson about the common crimes committed in the city and that generates a conflict among people? I'd love it.
Aly, what a great lesson!!! Loved it! You've covered a lot! Please, keep doing that and give us more of your personality, your drawings and your eagerness to teach.

An enjoyable and impressive lesson with a lot of vocabularies lectured by the excellent teacher! I learned and absorbed a lot of crime and law vocabularies through the lesson. This is my first lesson for me from your RU-vid channel. Done subscription and giving a thump up. Thank you so much, teacher.
Impressive and enjoyable lesson . l really like the way you teach , it's full of passion, energy and eagerness. Honestly, I'm addicted to your videos. Appreciate your efforts Papa 😊
Great job! Incredible how many crimes there are! I would also add 'bag snatcher' and 'pickpocket'. In Italy bag snatching is quite common in Prato (Tuscany). This is why many Italian women who walk in a street, don't hold their bags on the streetside.
I really like the way you teach! It's quite educative ☺ I knew most of the word you exemplified on the following video. But it's still very helpful for me. 🤗 Thanks a lot
Super!!! Excellent video. Just a suggestion, please about these themes talk in an impersonal way, I live in a very violent country and when you say «you commit....» It sounds like stimulating the person to do it. Thanks.
Learn English with Papa Teach Me you know papa I been chatting with British lads since I was 17 lol memories, I'LL go your way at any time and have fun lol
Very informative! Pleese make a video about science or more specifically about chemistry. Me as chemist being frequently confused about spelling names of chemical compounds and elements.
A famous crime in my country is called the Car Wash, maybe you've already heard about it. A huge and "white collar" crime committed for politicians and businessman in Brazil. Even a ex-president was arrested (btw, he's now in a jail located in my city hahaha). Everyday a lot of sentences is made and new things is discovered about the Car Wash. That was only possible because of the great work of the federal police, the Public Ministry (which means Crow Prosecution service in UK) and the judge, Sergio Moro. Over the years, this specific case made a revolutionary change in political scenario, a historic number of people manifested on the streets claiming for anti-corruption attitudes from political system. It was a unique moment in Brazil's history.
