The opening and closing of the drawer is an immediate red flag. It’s to distract the victim so he wouldn’t notice the notes have been swapped. The top note could be real and the rest of them fake. This is an re-enactment so they can only reconstruct the crime scene as best as they could and some details must have been left out. It’s not the real scene after all, so we’d not understand the full sleight of hand. I’m sure the scammer carries a backpack or something, it’s just not shown in the show. He would need a bag to carry the real notes. Of course the fake notes didn’t become real notes all of a sudden. All lies in a sleight of hands. Quite dumb of the victim not to count the money and place it on his side. The victim should be the one putting all notes in the duffel bag to make sure no sleight of hands. And the $ shouldn’t leave his line of sight. So he’d have realized the scam sooner. He’s too careless.

@@ABC-ed8cg yes, he switched the stacks using closing opening drawer to distract and prevent the victim from realizing something's off. The drawer is normal drawer. I wonder if the reenactment never explain to avoid people replicating the trick.

However, I still don't understand why it took TWO bags for Boris guys in Singapore to place $1.5Million SGD while it only required a relatively small duffel bag to store $15M Euros! I just Googled it now, as of July 14/2022, 1 Euro == 1.4 SGD, TWO bags?????? C'mon NOW!

@@coachmichael9604 SG police already mentioned that they can't leave Singapore with any bigger amount than $2K SGD. Which is probably why Sergei? 'employed' 2 mens to leave SG. Which mean everyone had equal/less than the amount taken to leave SG. 3 mens + 1 women. Total 2 bags. Since the 1st two mens may be suspicious,he instructed the other guy to pass the bag to another guy.

Precisely. Many singaporeans have weak safety awareness. They are lulled into a false sense of security cos our country is safe. All end up with no skeptical mind. Yesterday I watched one crimewatch episode on charity scam where a crook hired school kids to raise funds for supposed charity but it’s actually not. The episode encourages ppl to do background checks of charity fund-raisers before opening their wallets. One fella in the comment section says ‘when I donate, I don’t ask so many qn. I just give and don’t think so much!’ So I asked the stupiak commenter to gimme $50k since he promises not to ask any questions. Such stupiak individuals are the kinds that enable criminals. There are many ppl who fall victim to all kinds of scams cos they’re too ignorant and greedy. In the biz cheating case shown in this episode, the businessman is too careless and ignorant. The money he counted should leave his line of sight at all. The swap of fake notes was done as the scammer sat next to the drawer. He closed the drawer so the businessman wouldn’t feel inclined to check the stacks he’d earlier counted.

You can infer that the police had already done background checks. Not weak reenactment but your weak understanding causes u not to be able to connect the dots. The producer have to skim over some parts of the filming if not it will be too long-winded.
