Crimewatch Redux - Tesco Kidnapping (1991) 

As a Brit (from Essex, no less - we sometimes went shopping at the Ipswich Tesco when on day trips) who has lived in Germany for 26 years, Mark Heap's accent and particularly the intonation is spot on. Anyone saying his performance is unbelievable is mistaken. He SOUNDS like a German speaking English and, dare I say it, also looks like a German. This is, imho, one of the top two Crimewatch Files (the Michael Sams one still being by far the best).

Crimewatch, Crimewatch File and Mark Heap in one video, pure heaven for me. Unless this is another banned episode of Brass Eye that I forgot about, in which case I'd still be chuffed.

John Leeson who plays the Tesco's manager provided the voice of K-9 in Doctor Who.

So great to see Mark Heap in this , I can see why he was chosen for Brass eye.

That German is one of the greatest Crimewatch villains of all time lol.. "You are watching too much TV, I think!".

Once he knew the game was up, he should have dropped the German/Dutch act and just became his original John Carlton, Sheffield man who went to Wombwell school, They would have never found him as they were too busy looking for a German. I'm from Sheffield.

Years later, in less dramatic circumstances, a Tesco boss held a Tesco employee hostage inside a store.

Mark Heap is brilliant at playing someone weird or sinister!

The talents of Mark Heap were somewhat wasted here...in the series _Jam_ his sickening character sells a house to a couple on extremely sordid terms - it was terrifying.

28mins 38 seconds with the absolutely cheesy cringey crao acting from CID when the informant tells him the 3rd piece of information over a game of pool and he replies with a massively elongated GREEEEATTTTTT is the most accidentally funny piece of acting ever!

I heard that the (not) German guy was homosexual and fancied the manager of Tesco which contributed to a secondary motive. Is this accurate?

He was not a real dutch man or I am a dutch Man too but he played a good part. I Live in Belgium not far from the Belgian Dutch border
