Yes! With you, Redcard74 and Andy JS as the MCs and Nick Ross, Sue Cook, David Hatcher, Jacqui Hames, Helen Phelps, Fiona Bruce and Kirsty Young as guests of honour!
Eddie Edwards I think there were many factors why we no longer see it on TV anymore. The departure of Nick Ross was the final nail in the coffin. Without him the show was never the same. He made the show. Just like Brucie with the generation game, Cilla with Blind Date etc. The unfortunate murder or Jill Dando didn’t help matters either. Fiona was a good replacement but no match for Jill in my opinion. Then with the rise of social media and internet and the cuts to the police forces by the government, they simply didn’t have the finances to film reconstructions. It was cheaper and easier to appeal on the internet. Then the producers really butchered the show by having dramatic music over their reconstructions that made them like a cheesy horror film. This led to a loss of viewers.
@@rs-qt1qg Yes, I do believe you're very right in what you're saying, it was such an iconic program for many reasons, it showed you what was happening all over Britain, it could happen anywhere at anytime, it also gave viewers the chance to interact, and help solve many crimes, even if they needed a reward to encourage them to speak out about what they saw, or who they knew, was an excellent program, and it's great that we can watch all the old re-runs, and just hope for the best, R.I.P Jill Dando, a true beautiful legend......
@@eddieedwards5668 its 10.20pm on the 8th Febuary 2020 and still love watching Crimewatch, imagine how many crimes would be solved today with all the social media
The Geraldine Palk case is one of the saddest cases I’ve ever heard about. So unnecessary and such a shame. A young woman with her whole life in front of her. Cases like that make me very angry as well.
Thank you for posting Redcard - Hope you had a nice holiday! I note some people saying that they cannot find any info on the Derrick Johnson case. There was one thing I noted in the reconstruction: Derrick changed the locks when the strange mancame into the building a few weeks before. Assuming that the cleaners locked the door behind them after they left, could the killers have go in with a set of the new keys?
I wondered too. I thought how vigilant he had been in changing the locks too! 😟 So sad to know he had been laughing on the phone & then died that slow horrible death 😢 May He Rest in Peace 🙏🏻🌹
The armed robbery reconstruction was as good as some of the very early ones and reminded me of the Milton Keynes one from '86 or '87. I can't find anything about the Derrick Johnson case on Google, sadly.
@@Jimwoodward1212 I was 11 years old at the time and I'd just become obsessed with international cricket for the first time, and on BBC2 they were showing highlights of the Ashes series in Australia. That was just before Sky took over oversea cricket coverage which I wasn't able to watch.
Good Evening Fellow Crimewatchers and Good Evening RedCard74.Thanks for the upload - I've been looking forward to it all day.I remember some of the details of the Derrick Johnson murder but that's about it.Great watching it again.Cheers RedCard74
Not wanting to take anything away from our friend and CW legend Redcard's channel, but someone has uploaded the missing March 1990 episode if anyone hasn't seen it. Thanks for the latest upload RC!!!
I remember some information about the mans remains found in leeds. Some years later crimewatch said the coroner had made a big mistake and the remains were actually a woman who disappeared in 1988.
Spot on Ian ... The remains were later identified as an 18 year old woman called Donna Healey who'd gone missing in 1988 and the reckon had been stored for 3 years in an air-tight container. Really weird. They apparently re-appealed in 2013 www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-21024977
@@MsVanorak Yes it was definitely a women's watch as I had one exactly the same, they were very popular in the late 80's early 90's also the jumper was very feminine too.
John 4:20 NKJV If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
I've been addicted to these old crime watch videos for the last few months it's like an addiction i like to Google every crime i see just to see what actually happened weather they caught the person who was it and why they did it but what has more than shocked it has literally blown me away is the amount of brutal horrific murders on just a toal strangers for no reason where the killer has never been caught i always knew they'd be a few unsolved murders to this day but the amount has shocked there are literally hundreds of murders over the last 30 years weather the killer has never been caught,i actually thought I was a weido for loving watching these old Crimewatch episodes and have never told anyone its refreshing to see there's so many like minded people now that means im not a weirdo im a normal person or i am a weirdo and so is every person on here but either way atleast i ain't on my own lol
@ I am thinking more that it was solved, but the persons responsible have had their names erased from Google. The company looks to have gone of business a couple of years later.

@@Hi-kq1vi I read that the company went into administration as well. But I have noticed that not many crimes even if they are resolved are reported.
Good man. Looking forward to the Julie Pacey case and all the 1994 ones :D I also love the oUTSTANDINGLY crap acting, the dated scenes and how unrealistic some of the robberies are where robbers and victims have a casual chat about the football. As if.
Because I've never seen the full reconstruction only quick clips and the actor got arrested. Its also unsolved. truecrimeenthusiast.wordpress.com/2017/05/03/who-was-the-grantham-strangler/
Cavalier was clearly better developed but the MG Montego Turbo wasn't exactly a slouch. Don't think that was an MG however... probably a Countryman I expect.
The programme and videos reconstructions were a valuable tool . Public would sit down and watch view progamme content ring in with information you will never get any better way of getting results needs bring back.
“If you are thinking of letting them sell your car - please don’t, ring us instead.” “Hello? Is that Crimewatch? Yes, I’m calling about your offer to sell my car. Uh-huh. It’s a brown Mark IV cortina, 1980, 75,000 miles. Heavy bloodstain on the front passenger seat cover, but don’t worry about that.”
There really should be a Crimewatch drinking game. Down a pint if you see a 'have a go hero' take on robbers and neck a few shots when Robbers have unrealistic conversations with people their robbing.
They were on every month, and featured the most serious crimes the cops couldn't sort out, so were asking the public for help. Can't be so rare, when they were every month.
No, I reckon it's bollocks. Crime did not and has not decreased. CCTV cameras have achieved nothing except surveil people unnecessarily. Vast majority of people (myself included) are just peacefully going about their daily lives. If cameras really did solve crime, the UK would have lower crime stats considering our country is almost the top of the list for having the most cameras in Europe, second only to Germany. Just my thoughts/opinions.
rs84 they seem to mention it a lot in the 2 episodes being bumped from BBC1 to bbc2 must of bin a big deal but actually got a big result with the ron Harrison case
rs84 definitely it was unusual circumstances back then but I think they mention it a lot bearing in mind if it was today everyone wud understand with social media and it wudnt even be mentioned
@@rs-qt1qg I think he only mentioned it because it was vital to the case being solved. Really it was odd CW wasn't repeated on Two the next night, or at the weekend thinking about it. Think about how many more eyes would have seen it.
How many Crimewatch File Documentarys did they make over the years? I've watched every one I can find on RU-vid surely there must have been loads made that im yet to find or will I find any because they don't exist none there my favourite because it starts from before the crime happineg to the Crime actually happineg to the aftermath and finishes the day that person is convicted in court and are slapprf with hefty prison sentences
@@DeanBall75 Oh yes, 1990/1991-we got sent home from school one day due to the snow/how cold it was & there were 2-3 days where the school was closed along with many others in Kent.
The body in the London case was later identified as Cheryl Shackleton. There were a couple of later appeals on the case but her killer hasn't been found.
Saint Nick: I gather that the man you are looking for has a beer belly and I also gather that he has mousy hair. I gather that he comes from Liverpool with connections to Bristol, and I also gather that he has a distinct Irish accent? Detective Gormless: Yes, Nick, you gather quite correctly … Saint Nick: Thank-you. Actually, I am very good at gathering, or so I gather.
If people know what happened to crimes they see on these old Crimewatch and what the result can you right them in th comments so when i watch it i won't have to waste time Googling it now ive watched laoads of these old Crimewatch programs but there's literally hundreds I ain't seen obviously apart from when they were originally aired but it's like a never ending suppy which I love cures hour's of boredom in my life
