I personally like the RAD dots. There's only 1 issue in that they don't get bright enough but my CT dot has held up after 7 months of carrying, every day, with no issues. In self defense, the Dot will be on a darker background like clothing, cars, or walls. I don't think the brightness will affect the capability. Staring out into the sun on a field though, it washes out.
There are two plates in the kit: one for the RAD and another for the RAD Micro. The RAD uses the Docter footprint. The RAD Micro uses the Shield RMSc/Jpoint footprint, which would also accommodate the Holosun K-series.
Not so you can get plates where you can co witness my edc is a shadow system mr920l with a holison my iron sights are compressor heights and the pairing of the two are great if the dot goes out I still have my irons I have ccw this same set up for the past 4 years no issues
