I apologize for the heavy mic clipping in this one. As I mentioned at the beginning, I'm on a completely new setup here and need to dial stuff in. I'll be looking into better solutions for live streams in general as well.
Can you EQ the analogue mode to sound like the DSP? I have a decent dac/amp that I use on my desktop to use with my Sundaras. I'm pretty new to all this, Sundaras are my first decent pair of headphones. I bought Dusks, so this would be my first decent IEMs too. I EQ my Sundaras using Peace EQ and Crin's profile as a starter and tweaking a bit further for my personal preference. Maybe Crin can drop a preset for the Dusk, so the analogue can match the dsp mode, that would make them even more flexible.
You can indeed. Btw if you have tried EQ'ing the analog mode to match the DSP could you share your experience? Were you able to 100% match it to the Dsp mode or did it fall short a bit.
I don't have an Android device, does the DSP cable store the selected setting? Will it be shipped with the Dusk default stored that you talk about in the video? Thanks!
Dusk (2) Would be really interested in more about harmonics from the upper treble region! Wonder if these high planars act a bit like super tweeters? Any run in time on these iems prior to this video?
Remember, free dsp cable (that exact same cable) was chosen by you as the biggest disappointment of 2023. I don't think it changed much since then (both the cable and the app) So, unless this is great in its analog version, can't see how it can be good or kind of revolutionary with the cable. (You seem to highlight its dsp as its strong suit) The presets you can easily get with other solutions so....

Never was a fan of Moondrops build quality, two of my three moondrop IEM pairs have developed loose 2-pin connectors over time, causing cutouts and other issues.
You can use a simple USB C to USB type A adapter if you want to connect it to a PC. USB C is just a connector type, not the protocol. That should be USB 2 (no reason to use USB 3 or higher since the additional bandwidth is not remotely required)
I agree, but you do have both cables so you can't really complain I really don't like the idea of swapping cables on iems allot unless a cable breaks since the connectors do wear
The issue here isn’t the connector, it’s going to be whether or not there is a desktop version of the app available upon release; if not, you’re going to be limited to the single, stored tuning via the DSP cable. The connector is the least problematic part of this scenario, given how readily available USB-C is nowadays. Playing devils advocate here as I was quick to order mine as I’ll use this specific cable with my phone most often.
This is what I don't understand, if you're going to rank an IEM like this with it's included dsp. Then surely you've got to start talking about EQ with all sets? After all they can all be EQd.
The only difference is that, this one can have it's exact EQ stored in it's cable, so long as the interface is common, while most IEMs can be EQed per device, like I can't move the EQ I have on PC's APO to my phone. I think all manufacture could be asked to provide their factory EQ tables for people to able to get the factory intended EQ, because this is the factory intended EQ. Otherwise the Dusk can also be EQed to personal tastes as we do with other IEMs and headphones, it's not limited to that DSP it comes with.
Hi there, love your content, pls keep making such beautiful videos. I'm looking to upgrade from my Moondrop Aria. How does this Dusk compare to the Variations...if both are in my budget, which one shall I go for the newer Blessing 3 Dusk (just Dusk) or the Variations?
@@SlavJerryif with dsp you can make other iems sound close to the dusk, it's a fair question. You've got squiglink or wavelet for example to get to the tuning presets
@@JoseFerreira-zb7wh I know and I also do that a lot. but doing that just give you an idea of how that IEMs would sound, it doesn't turn your IEM into the one that you eq'd. plus, some people just want appreciate the gear. eqing your IEM to dusk doesn't give you the feeling of owning the actual dusk. if you don't care about that, good for you.
The impression I got from the video is that with the DSP cable it’s great, without it it’s not as good as similar competitors… I want to buy a good $500 CAD IEM but I use iOS and just bought a DAP that I will be using. If I learn how to use EQ can I get the same effect as DSP using PEQ on DAP or am I better off looking for another IEM (Hype 4?)
lol don't get it twisted it is good... Resolve is just treble averse. I've listened to it in analog and DSP, whilst the DSP is the fully realized product since there was so much already that is great in the analog that people will even use that minus the DSP. that's how good they're
A lot of stuff is shouty to Resolve, so wait a bit to hear from multiple reviewers before making a decision. You should get nearly the same effect using PEQ on another gear.
How fragile are these things, I have some Kiwis and I hear so many people break them, my DT1990s are built like TANKS, I wonder about how long ware and tare will take these down?
The Moondrop Dark saber where super frigile, some reviewers have them broken within the review video. I honestly prefer the metal IEMs or straight up headphones
I have the Blessing 3, it tougher than some metal IEMs (it's not hollow anywhere, other than at the tubes), for example the Shouer S12 has had both sides split open from time to time, the Dusk is a modified Blessing 3, so it should be just as tough.
Though this vid addresses the potential for Crinacle’s collabs to be considered favourably due to shared commercial interests what is abundantly obvious is that his commercial work gets a significant amount of channel time and promotion. Second time a Crin product has had a live vid and review vid. Promotion is essentially all that is required, and that’s what happens.
As it does on literally every headphone or iem focused channel. These are extremely popular releases, so it makes sense for everyone to want to do coverage.
@@ResolveReviewsi get the feeling his colabs get a bit more hype and praise than usual. I really don't feel this is as special or revolutionary as most reviewers put it. Sure I haven't tried it, but it seems way too much.
You can compare on squig link, or Crinacle's site, although I'd bear in mind that Super Review's Dusk seems to be an outlier, so maybe also look at other measurements. Also bear in mind the XM4 changes FR on volume level so depends how loud you listen. I would expect it to be a big step up otherwise than the tonality, I have the XM4, the OG Dusk, and the Blessing 3 and they're not exactly in the same conversation.

Calling it DUSK 2 is not correct. The og dusk was a retuning of the Blessing 2. This new dusk is not a retuning of the blessing three. and this is per crin himself. Dusk is a new IEM compared to the blessing 3. It has different drivers and configuration as a whole, the shell is bigger in all dimensions and the sound is completely different from the blessing 3. Call this the "DUSK 2" is a disservice to Moondrop and Crinicle
that's a rather unuseful point to argue, since the b2 dusk got known in the HIFI community largely as "dusk" so it can't be seen as the first "dusk" / dusk form...this is the second one , evolved to its own form ... it's not necessary to project disservice into it. it seems more like a respectful remembrance to me
Your comment would be true if they named it Blessing 3 dusk but there's no Blessing in the name so naming it anything other than Dusk would kill the hype.
@@ResolveReviews the OG dusk was part of the blessing family though is my point. And Crin and moondrop not naming it dusk 2, but having yourself call it dusk 2 is only gonna lead some folks on a confusing and potentially disappointing journey. If it was intended for people to call it “Dusk 2”, it would have been named as such by the creator and manufacturer.
@@oneeyeop-en6720 except this is now a an actual standalone product, technically the first of its dedicated line. It’s not even based on the blessing line at this point, making it its entirely own product. If moondrop/crin wanted it called Dusk 2, they’d have named it as such. It’s not related to blessing family at all in tuning or configuration, unlike the b2 dusk.
A crin collab is typically more than name association with a minor tuning. He is honestly one of the only audio RU-vidrs I’d buy collabs from. Don’t like hbb or zreviews collabs. At all
Crin liked designing headphones and he gets to work with different companies. If you meet an audio engineer who said he tuned 9 IEMs, would you be upset at them or impressed? Would it then change it they had a RU-vid channel? If people like his products and they offer good value then let him collab with whoever the f he wants. You don't have to buy them.
