I would say that under a $100 it would be a pretty cheap ring. Over $100 is good (remember, it's not a wedding ring it's an engagement ring). $500 is very good. $1000 is impressive. I personally wouldn't go over $1000 for the engagement ring as the wedding ring must be more expensive. 13k is a lot, you could buy a used car for that price. Plus, a used car is less likely to end up in the sink drain
