Counters to consider carrying around: Piercing fang: can’t be blocked and will stagger Impaling thrust: can’t be blocked but won’t stagger Elemental damage: does small amount of chip damage due to never being 100% blocked Curved weapons like scythes: has a niche passive of going around guards and doing more damage Big boom spells: shoot behind shield and either they block it and get chip damage or get blown up Returning spells (discus of light): goes through them and returns causing them to be hit in the back Status effects: can’t be blocked (even blood loss which doesn’t make sense) Kick and hammer talisman: does a ton of stamina damage parries: you know what parries do Hope this helps!

This fight was hilarious and I’m unsure If this guy was trolling because while he appeared at first glance as a noob he was aware of some keys mechanics that leads me to believe he was trolling the stream. It’s likely that if you went for a kick he would have rolled away. Kicks are easy to react to due to the motion the body makes before the kick and any cheesy shield/poker would be prepared for it. However, you can blend the kick attack by kicking after a roll, spin or even fake jump and then attack. Just have to establish a quick attack pattern and with the mixup, he will get confused. Moreover, burst weapons or high speed weapons will break the guard fairly quickly, even better than high poise damage weapons.
