Your logic makes total sense in an ideal world. But in LA, there's the history of actual reasons why sets started fighting each other. Actual mishaps and real deaths are the resons why neighborhood crips, gangster crips, hoovers etc, became rivals after they were already crips. Those fights are old, many don't know "why" the fights started, they bang out of "tradition". That's why it trips me out to see people in other places bang neighborhoods and intersections from another place. I'm ot condoning gangs in their current state (in know why they started) but I always wonder why , if people wanted to start a gang, why not start their own? At least, that way, they would know the politics that go along with the issues of the gang. Imagine, if beings from another planet had a set that was claimed "American" and they knew nothing about capitalism..... and there's another set that claimed "russian" that knew nothing about communism.... and all of those beings got along because they knew nothing about earth's politics. Seems like they shouldn't even be banging at all, it's already somebody els's business that really doesn't concern them, especially if they don't follow the concepts of the originals.
