Sonic and violins are a match made in heaven, gosh this remix is so good OG comment younger me wrote: _"For some reason do Sonic and violins go pretty well together! I love this song!"_
It's great how much variety there is. Whoever decided that every character in SA2 needed their own genre for their levels was a genius. It was probably Jun and we don't deserve him.
Zink Zak It's okay. I see you are having troubles and are taking out your anger on some guy on the internet. I know a really good therapist that can help you with your anger issues!
Sonic 06:This is crisis city the only thing you can do is going to the database to know what happened and how to comeback Modern:The whole city is on fire but you can still save the world Classic:Welcome to hell the next two to four minutes will be the worst moments of your life we hope you will enjoy the troll signpost
This was greatly orchestrated and sounds beautiful, for a place that's about to collapse. Makes you think of the impending doom Crisis City has, doesn't it?
That destructive funnel of wind, formed by hot and cold air masses colliding and is also referred to as a tornado, is carrying a typically 4 wheeled vehicle know as a car!
My friend bought sonic 06 just to experience firsthand how bad the game was. Needless to say we are wondering how to dispose of the disc with style after beating it. Might tell him to send it to Game Grumps just fuck with Arin.
Pascal MEYER you mean the original game where crisis city come from? then how come angel island zone is on smash but never seen a nintendo game with that stage/theme?? besides, sonic generations was on 3DS (i think) so the sonic gen version of this particular theme was in a nintendo and still could be added to smash
+Pascal MEYER Not sure this is necessarily the criteria, because Brawl had a remix of His World, which is Sonic's theme in Sonic 06 (and I don't think is in any other game).
Yeah. I've been thinking they should remake it in the style of generations like they did with Crisis City. That and a version of Unleashed but with Knuckles instead of the Werehog and Sonic and a remade Shadow the Hedgehog game (both developed by Platinum).
DETERMINED Sans There is a theory that she was whisked off to the Sol Dimension. Her memory was wiped, but it all comes back to her when she sees her past-self with Silver. That’s what I believe, anyway.
Sonic 06 happend just the events of it were erased but mephiles, iblis and Solaris were completely erased from it after the flame of Solaris was put out and everyone's memory was erased and things got reversed alongside sonic and shadow being the only ones who remember the events of 06 but will never mention that time.
@@chaclon1114 There was an interview when 06 was coming out asking how Blaze is part of the story and how she's from the future when Rush established her. Believe it went down the lines of the director saying Rush's events never happened and 06 was her introduction to the series, hence why she doesn't recognize Sonic. Blaze was added to 06 because she was the most well received character since Shadow. They went back on her story after backlash and said 06 Blaze wasn't the Rush Blaze later on, or something to that effect but only said it to calm angry fans down (people sure did like that Blaze and Cream friendship). Well we all know what the better game was and now Blazes origins are in some sort of limbo. It makes no sense for her to be from another dimension but still somehow be part a distant future from Sonics world. Silvers an even weirder case as hes still from the future but has no reason to still be in the present and hes never been given a proper re-introduction since, hes just there. 06 is still canon but only Blaze and Silver (mostly) are affected by it, the rest of the events are ignored. Yes the most accepted theory is that its an alternate Blaze but Sega treats the whole situation as af they're the same. And yes, in 2 games she doesn't recognize Sonic yet somehow references seeing Crisis City again (an even that never happened), while talking to Cream at the end of the same game, referencing her friendship with Cream. Rush and 06 are canon and you should stop thinking about it.
@@Oh-Ben Silver did get a proper introduction with Sonic Rivals. That was when he canonically got introduced to Sonic and co. after the events of 06 got wiped from history.
That's a cheap move. I'm pretty sure there isn't a game that has a better soundtrack than Touhou. A few games like Transistor and Sonic CD are amazing, but not genius level. Sonic 06 isn't even close.
Mousy Saint Except I never actually stated the Touhou soundtracks to be good. Just that they could put Maxie and Archie's trumpets to shame. The Touhou series does have a great soundtrack, but there are soundtracks that beat them, in my opinion. Undertale, Shovel Knight, The World Ends With You, and Kingdom Hearts.
Mm...let me just say that Toby Fox drew inspiration for the Undertale soundtrack from the Touhou Project. though, I will admit...there are games with better soundtrack than Touhou. Yes, tge soundtrack in Touhou is amazing, but most of the music sounds rather simplified compared to some game soundtracks with actual instruments and orchestras. (Hardcore Touhou fan btw)
Listening to this remix next to the original, it's kind of cool how they both have super different moods to them and different things driving the frantic pace of the song. This one is slightly faster, and has a much more obvious "dance" drum beat to it that makes it sound almost like a club mix. The depth of the song is also a lot more shallow -- there's not too many "layers" to the song that might be distracting. It's also a LOT shorter -- the entire thing is mostly comprised of the "Flame" and "Skyscraper" parts of the Crisis City song, with mostly just a tiny portion dedicated to "Whirlwind" as it prepares to loop with a really clever and well placed call-back to "Tornado" with that barely-audible sax solo in the background. All in all, it's a really great remix, and very well suited to losing yourself to a routine, like if you're at work or in the gym. I've downloaded the extended version of this remix, and it's crazy how easy I find it to just get lost in time because aside from the very beginning when they briefly drop the beat, there's no real dips in intensity from start to finish. The original Crisis City, though, is SUPER dynamic and deep. I would encourage anyone to go back and listen to it again, and just marvel at how the music takes you on a journey. None of the parts really sound alike, so it's a lot easier to tell how much time has passed. It's also a LOT longer, taking over 6 minutes to get through all of the parts of the song, which isn't too unusual for the 06 OST. The beat is a bit slower, and curiously, the drum beat seems to play less of a role in driving the "Fast" sensation of the song -- instead owing a large portion of that to, as best as I can tell, the droning, constant thrumming of a bass line. There's a lot more stuff going on with the sound design, too -- a lot more unique sounds and ways of mixing the instruments. And I especially like the guitar solo in "Whirlwind" and the dueling guitars in "Tornado". And, of course, the aforementioned sax solo, as well as some horns near the end making it sound kind of noble in a way? It's really fascinating how the beginning and end of the song sound so radically different -- ending on an almost triumphant note, instead of the super tense beginning of the song. I did download an extended version of THAT song too (because of course I did), and it does a phenomenal job at marrying the beginning and end. I prefer to listen to that when I have more time to marvel at all the work that must have gone into it. I'd recommend it for walking / running (preferably on a treadmill -- be safe!) or biking (same hat!) since it's a tempo you can much better keep pace with over an extended period of time. This got super long, but at the end of the day, I find it fascinating how two takes on the same Sonic song by the same Sonic team came out so wonderfully different, while still clearly resembling each other. I think it's awesome how this remix focused mostly on the best and most memorable parts of the song (really hinging on that violin section in "Skyscraper" and the bombastic opening synth sounds at the beginning) while trimming the fat, even though I think it's a shame that some of the depth of the original is lost thanks to that. They both get 10 stars, though -- all day, every day.
they actually turned this level from the hell that it was, into something fun with actual replay value! if SEGA can do that, then they can pretty much do anything
Was playing this full blast on the last day of school in class with me and my friend vibing along while everyone else looks at us like we've lost our sanity
This reinterpretation was very good, it took an excellent song and with these violin touches it gave a perfect air to the stage that is already involving by itself
@@justachaoticperson1906 is not my opinion, is just bad, is one of the worst videogame histories that i have seen. It just feels like an incoherent fanfiction, and it has so many plotholes, mistakes, inconsistent macanics, thing that happen because of plot, bad characters, etc... Idk how you can even try to justify it
me: **looks at sonic chronicles** also me: yeah sounds about right... ok that was just a joke the music could be a bit nicer if they planned it more out.
Fr, and hearing that whistle/siren sound in the background gave me such nostalgia for the inside the tornado section in the og!! I love how they combined the tracks for each segment of Crisis City into one song!!
From sonic06(crappy Sonic game but boom is worse..) I agree, but I wish Sega would get off their butts and make jet set radio evolution!! And stop spoiling Sonic...
@@Morbius-Tension I'd be honored to have someone help me out sometime! I'm currently in the process of writing a short story surrounding this idea, but of course the main story won't be done for a little while. Hopefully I can write it out as a digital comic series soon. :)
this song feels like a constant buildup without a climax for some reason. I don't know how else to explain it but it just feels like a rising tension even though nothing really changes. Im saying that as a good thing
Even in a game as horrendous as Sonic '06, the music is still phenomenal. Really tells you everything you need to know about the impeccable standard of music Sonic hold itself to.
This stage in Generations is so much better and more enjoyable than the entire Sonic O6. It is unreal how enjoyable that stage is. That song is just fantastic !
I was on the bus listening to this and I got physical chills hearing these violins. For some glitchy ass games about an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog, they go all in when It comes to delivering the most disgustingly spectacular soundtracks. Like, just what the absolute fuck dude??? This is *art.*
That violin sounds amazing and this song is definitely on the top of my list. They should share this on an anime of some sort. It would make a great intense scene~
Yeah! This gives me badass anime intro/battle scene vibes! Kinda like a blend of the Storybook adventures with the upbeat pacing, the elegance of Persona 3/5, with the tense atmosphere of Attack On Titan [which I've yet to watch]. I love this track so much! ^^ ♡
It's a city on fire, most people are dead, it's the apocalypse, so anyone who is still alive is going to be sad and living in fear. Silver confirmed this.
0:26 do you hear this background sound? it sounds from that game (THAT NOBODY WILL PROBABLY NEVER REMEMBER) of samurai jack, do you guys hear it or is it just me...? also in the classic version there's a little *dun, dun.* in the background that is hard to hear, and it sounds like the discord notification sound...
This is dubstep mixed with classical (Why? Because every anime does it so Sonic has to do it too) while Classic Sonic's is just cheesy 80s/90s style action movie fun. So it sounds a lot more positive for the silent hero who's too cool for all modern sonic's drama.
God, Sega needs to release this soundtrack to iTunes! This is my favorite soundtrack from any Sonic game! Who knew an orchestra and Sonic the Hedgehog would go so well together?
I love 1:46; the violins really kick in! The chills! ♡ This track sounds to me like a desperate race to battle, and I love it! Very upbeat pacing, exciting, and badass! 2:22 is when things get REALLY pumped up!
After 12 years of not playing 06 or generations i can still here sonic in the distance say “THE WHOLE CITYS ON FIRE” and “THAT TORNADO IS CARRYING A CAR”.
