Crisis Core: C09S03 Truth Revealed - Visions flash into Sephiroth's mind. What is he? Is he even human? www.silenttweak.net/ Editor's Note: Defining moment for FF7.
This scene makes the compilation make more sense. Because Genesis claimed Jenova to be a monster, it is only a natural reaction that Sephiroth is SO willing to accept that Jenova is an Ancient. Sephiroth's wish to transcend normal existence is a self-defense mechanism after having his humanity taken away.
And the moral of the story is - never listen to your insane, jealous friends. :) Poor Sephy! He looks so heartbroken. It's hard to think of him as a villain after seeing this.
Apple represents Banora, where all the first experiments began. It's called Crisis Core because these are the chains of event that eventually lead to Final Fantasy VII, thus creating the original crisis.
Wow, poor Sephiroth. I love that this game goes into more detail about how he went a little insane. But you gott give Genesis credit, it was a pretty good mind fuck.
Genesis was experimented on BEFORE Angeal...this is why Prof Hollander refers to Angeal as the 'perfected' experiment. He considered Genesis a failure & tried a different method of injecting the Jenova cells with Gillian/Angeal. Further still, another improvement upon the method was employed with Lucrecia/Sephiroth, which explains why Sephiroth is referred to as 'perfect'. Genesis was trial #1 (good); Angeal was trial #2 (better); Sephiroth was trial #3 (best - the perfected experiment).
A bit, yeah. Makes sense, since Gackt apparently inspired Cloud's look. It would be funny, in a future sequel, to have them meet and one of them say, "You look very familiar."
Mako poisoning is not a result of overexposure to Mako. It's a result of the subject being too physically/mentally/emotionally weak to withstand the Mako treatment. As a result the person has a mental breakdown (Mako poisoning). It is for this reason that Turks only scout for the strongest (mentally/physically/emotionally) people to become SOLDIERs. Cloud was NOT strong (thus why he failed the initial test & broke down mentally when Hojo exposed him to Mako the 2nd time during his experiments).
With what little Sephiroth knew of Jenova, and what he read in the basement of the Shin-Ra basement. He simply came to his own conclusions but unfortunately they were all wrong. But the fact that Sephiroth has Jenova's cell doesn't change. He carries her will, which is to destroy the planet of it's people. And Sephiroth was simply following instinct.
If you ask me, his reaction to meeting Lucrecia wouldn't have been much better, if not worse. Either the fact that she experimented on him, or that she (at least in the DoC Version) just used his father to make Vinny lose intrest in her, or at very least that she was ALIVE all the time but didn't come for him because she was so ashamed of his existance (even before the whole world destruction think) would have been enough for him to stab her in the gut. And then he would have snapped anyway.
According to the books Jenova is known/discovered 2000 years ago, imprisoned by Ancients. Gast misinterpets the information and believes Jenova is an Ancients. But the truth is the Ancients labeled her as a calamity that fell from the sky.
i only watched the Advent Children....but now i watched this one..i realise Sephiroth was the good guy...until Genesis came in and told him the truth...i feel sorry for him :(
I thought he was so willing to accept that she's an Ancient b/c it was written in Prof Gast's lab journals and Seph had much respect/admiration for Prof Gast. But I do agree about the humanity part, rather than view himself as a monster he chose to view himself as the descendant of a god.
Some people hate Sephiroth because he's a bad guy, but how can you blame him when he suddenly learned the truth? He was experimented on before he was even born and he never knew that. *sighs* Some people...
nah, actually when i thought about it more i realised that sephiroth didnt create the clones. hojo did but sephiroth was able to exert control over them
Yeah...they don't do a very good job of explaining how Jenova cells are supposed to stop Genesis' decay, esp. since he seems to have been renewed after he became that creature and got rejected by Minerva. And maybe I'm wrong...I just assumed Seph was willing to help (until he got pissed off), just like he was trying to concede to Genesis earlier about being the hero of the Loveless poem ("you can be the hero if you want"). Maybe too much Loveless pissed Seph off...lol "Go decay".
One thing that I hope they'll clear up is that Sephiroth is the one who ends up controlling Jenova and not the other way around like so many people think. There were enough people who actually thought Jenova WAS Sephiroth's mother. Hopefully as time goes on things will be clearer. I'll have to finish watching the rest of the scenes but for now it's time to get some sleep.
People seem confused about Genesis’ actions here, but he basically attempts to bring Sephiroth to his side like Angeal when Angeal discovered his lack of humanity.
Evelyn L. - Don’t forget his mental state at that moment, desperately searching for something, which stop his degradation, full of bitterness an rage of what that happened to him, feeling nearly everyone had betrayed him and consumed by the desire of vengeance. His ability of making of a proper approach might be clouded, otherwise it really make no sense to speak to a person you need desperately help from. And Sephiroth wasn’t really nice either to his friend, At least it is a pity that all 3 couldn’t find strength in there friendship to back them up mentally and fight the true enemy together.
...Genesis could have said this way nicer. Yet, this "Go rot!" part was unbelievably badass. Note the slight reference to the whole Adam and Eve crap. Of course, in this mythology crap, Jenova would probably take the Role of Lillith, the mother of Demons.... and the one who let the stupid apple stay where it was, just like sephy did.
Soooo this is why Sephiroth locks himself in the library in the mansion then goes insane abd burns down the town.. Looks like they will have to do a remake of FFVII afterall to add some of these Genesis moments.
When I heard that myself I didn't really understand either. But what it could mean is the cells don't age, therefore he won't deteriorate or age as fast. Basically all you have to know is "Deterioration" won't happen in Sephiroth because of the way the project was used on him.
Hmm. I interpreted the "What can I do?" first as: - Sephiroth is overwhelmed. "What can I say to this?" then - Sephiroth is analyzing. "You can make clones, what weirdo monster powers do I have?" I never even thought he might be offering to help. I feel for Chocolinx. Japanese seems like it's really difficult to translate into English and be sure you've got the meaning that was intended.
See, this is why I love Final Fantasy 7. Sephiroth and the three silver haired children, they can't be fully classified as "Villains" and Cloud and company, namely Vincent, can't fully be classified as "Heroes". So much gray. 'Course, Hojo and Ultima were just assholes >.>
I keep hearing peole say Sephiroth is hust a cold fish. But since when can a cold fish feel so sad?????? Sephiroth's entire life shouldn't have been that way. To hell with Genesis and Hojo!
no Genisis is the gackt lookalike better yet he actually is model completely after gackt. Gackt even does the voice for genisis in the japanese version.
Arent the clones survivors who were injected with sephiroths cells? Those may be the clones and they might have added Jenova's cells as well. Because of that He was able to gain control over them.
But if you think about it, he went mad for all the wrong reasons. First he got the wrong information, second he misread everything he read in the Shin-Ra basement mansion lol If someone told him the entire truth he probably wouldn't have gone mad.
Ok I just realized that Genesis said he needed Jenova's cells to stop his 'decay', but he was standing right in front of where her body is. Why does he need Seph to 'lend him his cells'? He obviously knows where she is so why didn't he just take her body (or a part of it) like Seph does later? AND it seemed like Seph was about to help him (he says "what can I do?") until Genesis started defecating from the mouth and pissed him off. If he had only asked Seph nicely...
Mako exposure wasn't a part of Project G/S...only the injection of Jenova cells. Mako treatment was a part of the SOLDIER project (fully grown human males scouted by the Turks are chosen to become SOLDIERs & are injected with Jenova and treated with Mako). I don't think Genesis/Angeal/Sephiroth were treated with Mako until they were chosen to be the initial SOLDIERs (I can't find anything to the contrary in the FF7 Ultimanias, etc).
confused about 1 thing. genesis says sephiroth cannot create clones. but in ff7 while he was frozen in the lifestream (at northern crater?) he created plenty of clones...
Ultimania Omega. It's a magazine that came out in Japan that explain a few things in the FF7 world. There was never an English release of the magazine.
Hmm...wait, Jenova was discovered 2000 years before this? I thought she was imprisoned by the Cetra 2000 years ago and discovered fairly recently. I've never been able to keep this timeline straight...
It's not about how they were made. It's what they know that makes them go emotionally unstable. Genesis killed his parents because he thought of them as traitors. Lying to him his entire life. Sephiroth on the other hand hates the world because he believe Jenova is an Ancient but she isn't. He thinks the world should suffer because they treated her so poorly. Now if no one told anythign to Sephiroth he'd still be living out his peaceful life as a SOLDIER.
Has anyone... even TRIED to tell Sephiroth that his mother was actually Lucrecia and not Jenova ...? *I'll destroy the whole Planet and...* *Your mother's not Jenova, is Lucrecia, a Human* *Oh, nvm then...* THE END.
Those technically were not true Clones of him, Infact "Clone" is in fact a misnomer. Sephiroth Clones are not genetic copies of Sephiroth, but rather those who carry the cells of Jenova, which Sephiroth exerts his will through to use the 'clones' as his puppets.
I know that, but Gast discovers Jenova about 25 years before this, doesn't he? Genesis makes it sound like she was excavated 2000 years earlier. I'm probably misinterpreting. I love this story, but I will never understand it completely.
i know girl but noo men cant understand that all they want to do is fight, you know men cant sit down with one another and share feelings. Look what happen almost armegeddon cause by a abandon and confused sephiroth
