#tauempire #warhammer40k #tactics #leaks Just Checking out the New Detachment!!! Crisis Suits are SOOOOO BACK!!! Feel free to support at Patreaon: patreon.com/CommanderNearsigh...
My first reaction to seeing this was “three datasheets huh, so I can bring 9 units of crisis suits?” And there was a great wail and gnashing of teeth, from the ghosts of all the space marines my Four-Finger Mont’ka glassed in 6th and 7th edition, as they remember the plasma rifle butt-fucking they got on a constant basis. They didn’t have cover, they didn’t have an armor save and their worlds were turned into glass. I even played against 30k armies and could just destroy them-bringing a lot of space marines or a few “expensive” space marines didn’t matter, I was brining 30+ crisis suits. Every game looked like the Highway of Death from Gulf War 1.
I think the Starscythe might be the sleeper option in the detachment. Deep striking 6 suits that are now using twin linked heavy flamethrowers is absolutely evil. Still crossing my fingers for a fusion blade wargear stragem with the sunforge.
Cool video! Also I would say the Tau’s version of the military industrial system would be the Earth Caste since they’re the ones who make all the weapons the Tau use 😊
No one hate me I’m mad at the change cause I have glued cyclics on my suit. I didn’t know how meta works cause I am new but I liked how they looked so I bought them and glued them, know there legends with maybe worse points.
No I totally feel you there. I am very bummed about the lack of cyclics. Certainly feels like we're being cheated there. This really makes me firmly believe that the only good way to build crisis suits is with magnets because the meta hates being consistent with us. I'm sorry you're gonna have to tear up your suits
I don’t know your life plans or anything, but I don’t know if I’ll ever play with someone who will care if my models have the right guns or not. Maybe you can find some people who don’t care about WYSIWYG?
Casual games mostly don't care about WISYWYG for wargear as long as the general unit composition is good. Local store tourneys and stuff often don't either, as long as you're not going to a GW competitive one or something. I would, one at a time, cut them carefully off and magnetize so you can change loadouts whenever you like, but you can work on that as patience allows and keep playing in the mean time.
Im not even a T'au player and id be fine if you tell me their gear is different than equiped as long as i know what the new stuff is suposed to be/do. Dont worry too much about it.
The Ghostkeel with the new detachment is gonna be killer. Think of the Fusion Collider at Strength 13 now! You are gonna wound on 3s for a Rogal Dorn. That is pretty damn good.
I'm hoping this isn't Mont'Ka, and its straight Farsight. I think Mont'Ka will be its own thing that benefits more than just suits but either runs out or is most useful early. This one, with bonded heroes as a name even kind of alluding to the Eight, will hopefully just be representing farsight specifically.
I picked up this game in 8th edition, I started with the start collecting box of the Tau, I came back in 10th due to my friends now also playing this again. I chose tau because I liked the mechs so I am glad to hear this . Thanks for sharing.
I can see you are hyped for the Crisis Suits XD. I am excited to see what happens with the new detachment, and I hope it will be more entertaining for both those playing T'au, and those playing against it.
Commander Nearsight you are awesome. I love your content. It's great to hear someone positive about the new updates. I love your enthusiasm. I watch every video! Keep the content coming. 😁🤗
This looks interesting! So we've got Kauyon, Kroot Hunting Pack, Retaliation Cadre, a supposed leaked version of Mont'ka, and one or two others. Really hoping for a Stealth-themed detachment, making them an absolute nuisance to deal with and allow for some objective shenanigans. Either that or a Bor'kan themed detachment that just wants all the biggest guns.
So as a aside if you missile loadout a 3 man unit of Broadside with a battlesuit supports system you can deal some gross damage. Plus trip tide with burst cannon are getting a nice buff with this as well.
While this might seem good, there is still the issue of Bring it Down. I'd be thinking about a variety of battlesuits, rather than just crisis. That's a lot of secondary points you're potentially giving away. But that's not to say that I don't absolutely this new detachment rule! It means we get stronger as we get closer, and our enemies need to think carefully about getting within charging range. Cause if they fail that role they're in some serious trouble. And if we get to keep weapons support system or fall.back and shoot theyll need to be very sure that they kill the unit outright. If they don't, we'll make them pay for their greed 😂
Absolutely love the idea of unleashing 9 units of crisis suits for 27 but for you experienced Tau players out there, do you feel this will be viable in competitive play? Praying there is a significant points decrease to pair with my 60 breachers and 30 pathfinders… pew pew pew pew
I’m commenting this before watching but there better be some major points drops if Crisis Suits are going to be specialists now. 200pts isn’t gonna cut it. Fusion blasters should be anti-tank and pretty solid, maybe like 180 or so like they were pre-datatslate. The other two though, those should be like 140 in my opinion. I luckily don’t have many Crisis Suits to begin with, but the ones I do, have CIB glued to them. I’m excited to have an Infantry focused detachment as well as see how the Kroot detachment goes. Not a fan of Kroot but excited for its potential.
I will reserve my opinion until the codex drops. I did however just finish building a 4000 pt tau force for a friend who had to sell his army for medical reasons.
Imma level with you. I didn't even realize everything got leaked until I saw everyone else posting videos about it. I'm conflicted on what to do but there shall be videos about the leaks soon!
I wouldn't say it's over. We just lose our easiest played trump card. We just need to become more creative instead of handing out the one weapon fits all load out
On one hand... I like the Crisis Suit Detachment because whilst still being new to Tau and have an army of just Suits from Crisis Suits to Ghostkeel and Riptide but on the other hand... I am incredibly annoyed at being inconvenienced because I glued in my weapons at the start of 10th because no change came to suits so now I have to. tear them apart to start again... Which sadly now has also made me look at competitive negatively purely because you kinda know the reason for the change was to curbstomp the CiB spam in Competitive games.
@@CommanderNearsight It is indeed, The only two reasons I hadn't done so was entirely because I never did so before and I didn't want to accidentally ruin such expensive models.
@@CommanderNearsight I am also hoping they keep with being able to pick the extra wargear or if like the weapons it will be static and shield gens are gone
All I'm gonna say to the happy Tau players is this. Expect the Scorchstar Gambit to be nerfed to cost 2CP. Because man, as a mostly Asuriyani player, seeing you all have fire and fade for 1CP for a while is gonna be fun though. Even if it's just for the suits.
Ik it may be pointless bc of what you said but I’d love a video guide on what/how to build The Eight. When I first started collecting tau I wanted to do this but there was almost no information online about how to do it so I gave up lol
I’m kind of split on the whole thing. It feels like a scummy way to sell more crisis suits and I feel sorry for all of the people who kitted their kits out the way they like without magnets. On the other hand, if crisis suits are your thing, you can now takes 3x as many, so that’s a good boon for them. I also like the fact that they’re getting rid of CIB spam. It’s kind of a boring meta, y’know?
@@Kingofdragons117 currently you can only have 18, (3x6), but if you had sets of 3 in the next one you can have 27 (3x9). My math could be off or I could be missing something.
apparently everyone is missing the images of the suits with only 2 weapons if this is the max weapon load out for a crisis suit instead of the 3 or 4 we have now then their firepower is cut by 33% to 50%, making them trash no matter the detachment. Add to it that within a current box of crisis suits you can't even make a legal squad as their are not enough weapons the load out 3 suits with two identical weapons.
