Thanks for the review, I love the board. The checkers are superb and, importantly for me, they all have different patterns, giving them a more 'natural' appearance than some mass produced checkers.

Two years since I last watched this video and posted a comment. Still love my Crisloid Board. In fact I've purchased 2 tournament boards from Crisloid. I love my finger dish checkers. The finger dish is only on one side so if you're playing in a tournament just turn them over. The cork surface is quiet enough even if there are people sleeping in the house. Customer service is the friendliest I've ever experienced. The best board for the money. There are more expensive boards (better? it's a question of taste) out there, if you have in excess of $1000.00 to spend. Thinking about buying a third Crisloid board. I love the way you can customize and personalize just about every aspect of a board. Buying different backgammon boards could become addictive. I'm going to do my best not to go down that rabbit hole.

Thank you yeah I’m going on 4 years and I’m going to do a follow up review at a later time. What’s ironic is that I swear after I posted this video more and more videos started to appear which is great. Best of luck with your board 👏

Very good and detailed review, thx a lot for that! I was looking for Wycliffe but heard that they´re seriously lacking in quality no matter if Generation I, II or even III... I´m glad I found this video and do feel that I´m getting me pants pulled over the price with any Wycliffe board and it is of course worth walking the extra mile (or Buck 😆) thus I´m a serious player looking for a board for long terme use. Kind Regards and Good Games!! 🎲🎲 Christian

Nice! Have researched countless brands. Crisloid seems to come off as quality for price made in America. Looking forward to an eventual upgrade from my $120 board that has held up for about 6 years.

Excellent review, thanks - but one thing I would like to see, which I think is important: 6 checkers placed on adjacent points to see how well they fit in the board. Some boards have checkers that leave a gap, others are too big to fit 6 in a line, others have just the right fit - and Crisloid?

I am planning on getting one myself. I am wanting to do a throwback vintage look. With their Legacy model. I am wanting those old circle top points but in green and white. Right now I am having Crisloid reproduce a copy of the old Jade Green and Yellow Butterscotch Bakelite checkers. It won't be actual Bakelite just look like it. Hopefully they can get the Bakelite look and colors using modern day resins. I am a sucker for vintage games and how they look.

@@thedgreek I already have Crisloid making the checkers. Later on I am going to order the board. I mainly wanted to see how well they make the checkers look like Bakelite. Right now I have a Wycliffe Bros. set. I have it in grey with black and white points. I have orange and red checkers, it reminds me of WSOBG from the mid 2000's. I am really digging the look.

@@saved03 - You can check out my review of a recently received custom designed board from Crisloid with the Legacy points in a color scheme I designed, and with checkers I picked out with the help of Crisloid staffmember, Lucien. Good luck with your board!

I really like your video. I wonder if you ever regret not spending the extra money and having the Jazz logo included on the playing field? With the double-sided finger-dishing on my checkers, I think it's pretty automatic that if a die ends up on a checker, it requires a re-roll. Also, how is your set holding up overall? I've had limited play on mine, thanks to COVID, and the set is holding up very well. Cheers! Justin M.

Thank you. So far I do not regret not putting the logos on the board. What I didn't realize until till after I got my board is that depending on the light both the green and blue are darker than in the video. It makes it monochromatic when playing. My board has been holding up very well and I still love playing on it Congratulations on your board for you and good luck with all your opponents. Cheers!

Thanks for this video. I sent in a request for a quote to Chrisloid a couple of days ago. Looking forward to a reply. I hope you are still monitoring responses because I have a question. I thought the advantage of a cork board was that it would be quieter than a wood board. I didn't realize that it was a lacquered surface. Do you find it noisy? I'm surprised that you didn't go with one sided finger dish checkers. Why not?
@thedgreek
@thedgreek 4 года назад
The cork board is not really noisy compared to a wood surface. My video does show when the dice land you can hear the noise. Even in tournament play it's not bad. As for the checkers. There are 2 reasons cost and during US tournament play if the dice lands flat it counts.
