If any of you guys have ever been to a panel with voice actors (especially MALE voice actors) at a con, then I'm sure you're familiar with the "say 'marry me' as your character" bit that fans always have the voice actors do.
Wellll I was recently at Otakon and caught Johnny Yong Bosch (Izaya in Durarara!!) saying exactly what all the Shizaya fangirls wanted to hear, and I recalled stumbling across a clip of Crispin Freeman (Shizuo in DRRR!!) also catering to the fangirls. I decided that these two clips should probably be put together...
I feel so bad for these guys, though. I really do. I can't imagine how awkward that must be for them -___-'

Johnny and Crispin are both really cool about it. A lot of voice actors try to distance themselves from the fangirl yaoi type things, but they're unphased, and I respect that.

By the looks of it, Crispin Freeman isn't too uncomfortable. I mean... getting loyal fangirls to scream at the top of their lungs isn't a sign of awkwardness at ALL. I guess that's why I love CR. xD

Met Johnny at my last con and he signed one of my Bleach manga. He's ridiculously nice, and his daughter is adorable! Glad I stumbled onto Durarara because I love his voice as well! xD

While Izaya isn't my favorite JYB role, I love it all the same. Johnny's really good at inflections (rather than having a range of different voices like some voice actors) but I don't think Johnny upped the "crazy" factor enough for Izaya in the dub. I know he's perfectly capable of a LOT of crazy, given his role as Hollow Ichigo, but the way he plays Izaya comes off more as "charismatic" than "insane." Although, I have no problems with a charismatic Izaya either... >w

I feel bad for them too but at the same time, it's their choice. Yes it's to please the fans but I'm sure they're pleased enough to hear their characters say a proposal. Saying it towards a certain character just makes it all the more enjoyable. I'm pretty sure both Crispin and Johnny know of the Shizaya fandom, it's to please their fans~ if they really cared that much, I don't think they would have done it XD

I was at the "Durarara" panel at AX 2011 and I wasn't familiar with the series but when I saw the clips and met Crispin Freeman (my favorite English voice actor), I was too stoked. I couldn't stop laughing at this part when Crispin said it for Izaya's line!
