tip: you can always cut more, but you can't ever grow it back quickly. Don't make the line up too far back since u can always fix it

It’s having the confidence to create that line on the natural line especially with new clients I tend to take off the minimum and enhance what’s there

what i find works best i use on my self and others is i take my 1/8th guide with my clippers open so its like a one and a half i taper the hairline as well as the sides so when you do the line up it makes it extra crispy

When connecting the sides to the top of the hairline, do you do anything different if there's heavy receding in the corners?
@MKouthere

depends on the client but usually you can still make an artificial line unless theres literally nothing in the corners

Are your trimmers Zero gap. I dont cut too many black folks at my shop but I've gotten a couple recently n my problem is my 3 month old factory setting gamma hitters don't seem to cut to well on corse curly hair. And I'm afraid to Zero gap because I'm not that light to the touch. And I tend to shake when I'm not getting the result I want. Any advice

@deebeeunknown5191
@deebeeunknown5191 7 лет назад
Black Voice man you are not alone. I started a couple of months ago and I feel like I'm constantly asking for help from the instructor or more experienced students. They don't mind helping at all but I want to not have to ask for help. Part of the reason is because I don't come as often to school as other students because I have to work, but I've made some adjustments and started to come more the last week. It's frustrating but just have to hang in there and keep learning.
