My favorite quote with Messi and Ronaldo is something along the lines of "If you let an artist make a footballer, they would create Messi, If you let an engineer create a footballer, they would create Ronaldo". Watching Messi is like watching someone dance with the ball at his feet, watching Ronaldo is like watching someone command the ball to go exactly where it needs to be. Where Messi glides effortlessly in small windows to find space, Ronaldo simply creates the space.
Isn’t only about the skills, it’s about the importance of Ronaldo’s Goals. Champions League Goals, World Cup goals, goals with Left leg, right leg, head, bicycle, he’s complete.
@@andylabra one thing i really can't wrap my mind around is the fact that this debate is often affected by reductionism. Whenever the debate is up it always reduces himself to a numbers and trophies comparison. I don't really need to look to stats to say thet ronaldo r9 was a better than klose and i don't need to take into account thropies to say that Ibra is a better striker than giroud. That's what bothers me the most about this debate, the lacking of field analysis. How a player move, how he fits in the team, what's his impact on the overall perfomance of the team, his skills, the efficiency of his plays and so on. Then of course since i have my opinion on this if i want to partecipate the debate i have to limit myself at numberd and stupid argoument like "he have one more goals in this competition, he has two assist in the finals, he hold the record for the most bribbles", BS argouments in my opinion but nonetheless the ones the debate gravitates around.
@@luga2946 come on man. You're telling me that Messi, Di Maria, Otamendi, Dybala, Aguero, Mascherano, Higuain, etc. We're one of the worst Argentina sides this century 😆 get tf out of here. If this were true, they wouldn't have made it to the finals. They didn't rise to the challenge the way a team that stacked should have. If you're hurt personally or lost money on their fate, it's okay, that I can understand. But to tell me that they arguably had one of the worst Argentina sides is an absolute joke and shows you're hurting fornsome reason. Truth is that Messi has always had superstars around him, on the Argentina side includes. He has also retired feom international duty twice? What it boils down to is that Argentina, a great team (regardless of what your personal opinion is) do not have a leader to push them the extra mile. Ronaldo does not have the luxury of having that much help, so it's no surprise that he doesn't go farther. Argentina couldn't cut it when all of those great players were in their prime, they wasted their chance. Unless there is some miracle, Argentina are not going very far this year.
An absolute legend. My favorite player of all time. I respect those that prefer Messi he's a legend too, but Ronaldo was special. His ambition, mindset as well as his skill made him probably the most complete player of all time imo.
Only true football fans know why ronaldo is considered so highly in football. People who jump on the bandwagon to look cool and get views will never understand the genius of ccr7
Messi is gifted player and Ronaldo has that too but more like hardworker player not say Messi isn't hardwork because he already gifted, is make me respect Ronaldo more
Agreed, and whoever thinks differently doesn't love football, but instead loves fan clubs. Loving football is regonizing the greats, regadless of preference.
A legend. An example of an athlete, no one changed the game like him, no one broke records like him. Privileged to be able to see him and Messi contemplate us with good football for more than a decade, I will never forget the classics and the afternoons I spent watching these two making history.
Cristiano is like a real life super hero. He inspires all of us to be the best version of ourselves. He makes us dream big and believe that our purpose is inevitable. That is why he will be remembered for centuries. That is why he is #1!
@@ratedrreformed8452 Well, I believe weak minds tend to try to judge other's minds and feelings. Cr7 has millions of fans across the world that feel inspired by him. Who are you to judge others?
Christiano Ronaldo is our living legend most hard working, professional, highly skilled, self made, charismatic, handsome, charitable and still going strong❤️🙌🏽
The best part is that Ronaldo and Messi both have very different background, but still had the exact same dream of being the absolute best. Soccer is probably the only sport in the entire world that could contain the talent of those 2 at the same time. There's been greats. But those 2 will be forever held at the number 1 spot together for me.
Tennis managed 3! I've always placed Federer and Messi on the same natural/effortless talent line, and Ronaldo and Nadal on hard work and talent. Djoko- a combination of both
@@blackboywiththesauce2359cap 😂😂😂😂 CL finals, World Cup finals, Classicos, Messi done it everywhere. Delete your silly comment little boy. Messi is the GOAT
Our Portuguese Superstar ⭐ CR7 is the best soccer player to ever walk the face of the earth. This man came from nothing!!! It's amazing to see where passion and dedication for something can take you. Unlike Messi that played all his life in Barcelona, Ronaldo was able to win titles in multiple leagues and be the world's top scorer of goals. CR7 THE MACHINE !! If you guys have some time , look up the clinical trials they did on him. This man can score goals EVEN WITH THE LIGHTS OFF!! CR7 THE GOAT !!!
nope. remember when ronaldo missed 47 free kicks on the trot? they dont include that bit in the highlights. remember how he has taken over 3 times the amount of shots as messi has but only scored a handful more goals. they dont mention that stat in the highlights. remeber how for years he would play left wing for real madrid but never track back. allowing madrids left hand side to be got at resulting in them only winning the league twice in his 9 years at the club. it never brings up that fact in his highlights. look ronaldo is freakishly good. one of the best ever. i have him at 5th in my list of best ever players. but the goat? nah mate. messi runs the game. not just finishes the chances.
Sorry buddy but no,he is not the best FOOTBALL player to ever walk the face of Earth. Maradona was better, Eusebio was better, Puskas was better, Pele was better. The fact that our lads today have better training , better gear, better diet, better coaches etc etc and still get compared to past greats [and not being unquestionably better] goes to show that past generations had talent that wasn't just "generational". Love to watch CR play...but this nut hugging of whoever "did it better than the rest" last in sports needs to stop.
Cristiano will always be the GOAT of the streets, he inspired all the current players of this generation: Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Garnacho, Kvaratskhelia, Endrick, Leao, Jaidon Anthony and so more.
Again, he has it all, left foot, right foot, heading, free kicks, penalties, inside the box, outside the box, goals from distance, what else does it take to make a more complete player Edit: Ronaldo has at least an above average ability in more aspects of the game than Messi...not just scoring, but also defending (especially set pieces), dribbling and play making together with the goal scoring specialities. Ronaldo is the more complete player
A complete player? Or a complete striker? You just highlight striker characteristics. Complete player you have to talk about pass, dribble, vision, accuracy, technique. You just talked about goals from range or different parts of his body. That's not being a complete player. That's being a complete striker. That's what you people don't get if we talk about the 3 best striker in terms of goals Messi and Ronaldo would be in the conversation. If we talk about the 3 best passers of all time only Messi would be in that conversation. If we talked about the 3 best dribblers of all time only Messi would be in that conversation. They're both great but I think that Messi has the edge because he literally can do it all, score, pass, drible, create
@@pedrosoares7922 first of all I hate how Messi fans bring up the point of assists like Ronaldo has 0. Ronaldo literally has more assists than players who were considered pass first or of the playmaker type, the likes of Beckham and Pirlo....secondly if you're a true football fan you can't truly believe that at no point in his career Ronaldo was never considered the best dribbler in the world at least for a season or 2 and because of that he should be considered one of the best dribblers all time
@@ayooooo He is tho, people that started watching football after the pandemic say otherwise and have not watched him play. Ya'll judge him based on what media says. Who is the player that completed the most dribbles in one game, you don't know that don't you, cuz no one ever brought it up. Yes ronaldo most hated player in the media
@@norrahhal3152 would have to go back 15 years before the pandemic but sure, find me one ex pro or current pro thats not ronaldo biased saying that he is one of the best dribblers of all time
I'm a Real Madrid fan and I will say that both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are amazing players in a different way. I hope we see players like them again in this lifetime.
I love Messi he is such a joy to watch a little magician, but even I believe Ronaldo is the greatest he has the ability in every game to win it alone. His record speaks for itself and always will. And I'm a Liverpool fan
The other way around. If cr7 can do it all by himself where is his wc then?? Messi is the only one who can win a game all by himself. Cristiano if he doesn’t have a teammate to cross it so he can do a tap in or a header he wouldn’t have scored so many goals
The man can do everything!! i mean everything!! ✓He used to be one of the best dribblers in the world. ✓One of the finest skillers in world football. ✓Arguably the greatest Headed player( who can score absolutely insane header). ✓Stunning Long range goals. ✓Weak foot goals. ✓Freekick Goals, especially knuckle ball Goals. ✓Bycycle kick goals. ✓One of the Fastest players of our generation. There is no player in history of football who is as complete as him. Pure genius ❤️🔥

Ever since Ronaldo left Spain in 2018, Messi never scored against Real Madrid again this is how much Ronaldo motivated Messi to play better. Without the rival Ronaldo, Messi just played confortable football. That's why I respect Ronaldo, he doesn't need anybody to motivate him, he has the right mindset to motivate himself. At 38 every single game to him is like a final, Messi never had and never will have that hunger to win that Ronaldo still has.
People say Ronaldo can't dribble pass defenders like Messi does that's because they're not informed on how good he was back then, Young Ronaldo was Menace to defenders, but He soaked all the advices from his coaches and teammate and changed his game and became is animal that he is today, Best finisher and most clutch player of all time 🐐🐐🐐 BTW you can react to "Young Ronaldo was insane" And " Cristiano Ronaldo the man who can do everything "
When it comes down to it, both of these guys are once in a GENERATION type of player. And we were lucky enough to witness both of them playing AT THE SAME TIME. People don’t realize that nobody will come around like one of these guys for a long time. That’s what’s important.
Ronaldo's greatness is not in the skills and goals alone but the spirit and the courage he carries and inspiration in winning the most important games year after year
Ronaldo the best soccer player, he's the most complete player I've ever seen, his shots are the most powerful, he can score all kinds of goals, score and assist, plus he's a decisive player, he doesn't dwarf himself in big games.
@@PassportBro_ world doesn't revolve around you, buddy. It is what it is. You can't beat others into submission, other people have sense of perception too. End this entitlement.
We was truly blessed to witness both of them. One was pure Talent while the other one was pure Training. Only we as people choose and decide who is better but in a perfect World there is no better. They both GOATs we probably never witness something like that again. Its just the question who u Pick for which Situation. iHALA MADRID
listen i get if u have preferences on messi or ronaldo based on the clubs they played, etc. but objectively messi is better. saying ronaldo is objectively better than messi means u dont know ball
@@duobejota8823 But Messi practices like crazy, otherwise would've followed the same decline as Ronaldinho, who had more 'magic' and was as natural as they come. Messi has kept his form for so long exactly because he's professional, determined and trains hard. He has not settled for the talent he was born with. Meanwhile, CR7 during his younger days was known as a skillful dribbler and playmaker mostly, which you don't accomplish without lots of talent. You also don't get to bloom into one of the most prolific goal scorers in history with dedication alone. One thing is to say Messi is more natural WHEN COMPARED to Ronaldo, or that Ronaldo trains EVEN HARDER than Messi. Another thing is to say one is "PURE talent" and the other is "PURE training". You don't stay on top for a whole generation with just one or the other. They're both talented hardworkers.
It’s simple, surely someone has said this. Cristiano is like a machine!! Worked hard to earn it, Messi has a God given talent. So it really depends on what you appreciate more. I also lean towards Cristiano
Nope. Cr7 has a natural talent and all that died bcos Josè Mourinho used to complain abt him wasting time dribbling rather than passing and winning the matches. Cr7 at Man u before he left for Madrid was the best dribbler during those years overall in Europe. He even held the most dribbles in a single match while at Man U.
Different breed and class, but both have been dominating football world, I personally always been CR7 fan, he has inspired so many youngsters, you probably won't find many inspired from Messi because he's naturally unique, Ronaldo did everything from pure hard work, dedication and work ethic. For me, CR7 any day, any time the real GOAT.
Two complete different play styles. Only comparable thing between them is goals and accolades. Other than that, these two couldn't be more different on and off the field. Absolute legends here... biggest 'rivalry' of all time
Hes the result of sheer hard work and determination to be the best in the world. Had the honour to meet him when i was young, one of the nicest people youll meet
Cristiano is like both Kobe and LeBron. Like LeBron he’s an athletic freak with a terrifying combination of size, speed, and power that’s ideal for his sport. Like Kobe he’s fully capable of being an incredible passer, but has a score first mentality. He’s capable of doing/copying all the skills and moves in the book with impeccable footwork and ball skill as well as move efficiently and relentlessly off the ball. He’s just as hardworking as either of them. And he’s as clutch as can be.
I'm neither a cr7 fan nor a messi fan but imo Overall as a player, messi is the GOAT, based on just pure technical ability, vision, skills and playmaking capabilities Cr7 is more of a striker, the best to ever do it, only thing which separates him from messi is his mentality, guy is a mentality monster 🤟
It's hard to compare booth bro, as a brazilian the only thing that I can say is just admire these goats cause soon they will not play anymore, so just admire them no cap, they are 2 legends that born to do dat man and I dunno if it happens again too early, too much love from Brazil.
Ronaldo, at the peak of his powers, was the most feared man to lace them up. He had the ability to swing the tide when his teammates needed him. Very few had this ability. Maradona said the same who is an Argentine legend.
Being a CR7 fan ❤you can’t deny the fact that Messi and Ronaldo both are legends of this game ⚽️ criticizing one to appreciate other is not a wise thing I guess 😊 celebrate both while they are on the pitch ❤
Messi is more technically gifted (in terms of precision and reaction time of dribbles, passes and shots), he's also better tactically so he knows his teammates' movements better...Ronaldo has better athletic attributes...but when it comes to the impact on the game it's debatable cause they have very different styles so depending on the team in which you put them either one might have an effective or useless impact (Messi thrives in teams that hold a lot of possession while Ronaldo wait for the key moment to find a goal scoring opportunity)...however Messi is better 1v1 so even if you shut his teammates down he can hurt you, Ronaldo is more of the killer finisher so he needs to have the ball delivered to him while Messi is an organizer...Messi is like Lebron and Ronaldo like Giannis in terms of style
Ronaldo IS the GOAT. The fact he was able play for 4 teams in different leagues and countries and be a champion and star in each place is what makes Cristiano so special. Whereas Messi played for Barcelona for years, he played it safe and never challenged himself outside of Barcelona. It’s only now at the end of his career did move to a different club. Cristiano has the most followers on Instagram in the world and has made the most money from sponsorship deals for a reason, he’s the 🐐!
It's funny how when it comes to messi they criticize him for being loyal to barcelona but praise other players and call them legends of a particular team just for playing for with one team for so long
@@mp4-q my comment was from a year ago, obviously things have changed since then, Messi is now considered the Goat. But ‘personally’ I still think Ronaldo was the more exciting player to watch. I think Ronaldo made a mistake leaving Real Madrid as he would’ve won more awards. The same with Manchester United, as they were simply not the team they once were years ago.
React to Messi vs Ronaldo - the best GOAT comparison. They do a breakdown of both career stats, skills and the peoples opinions to see who has the slight edge in the GOAT debate
