Wow. My best friend got me into HIMYM about halfway throughout it's lifespan; because I refused to check it out on my own due to the fact that the title of the show sounded ridiculous to me. I'm forever grateful that he got me to watch it; because I'll have alot of good memories and laughs watching it together. The world lost a great human being December 6, 2016. I miss him every day. Life is far too short to take anyone or anything for granted. A second becomes a lifetime faster than you can possibly imagine. Always remember that.

I watched HIMYM from the first airing of the pilot episode and was hooked. Cause I'm kinda like Ted. In the good ways and some of the bad too. But I had many friends who were into it from the start as well, and like you I dragged many into the fold as well. 😊

There are few times in our lives when a vocal and acoustic instrumental duet between two humans can so capture and enrapture one. To watch and hear Steve and Cristin play and sing Glen and Marketa's song is surreal. I mean, any person who can watch and hear them recreate this song without tears flowing down their cheeks is, in my opinion, not deserving of membership in humankind. Jim Canfield

I don't see the contradiction: she's an actress taking on a new role. Just happens to be one of the most anticipated roles in TV for quite some time. Would be weird for people not to take notice. Also, it's worth noting, that if you're not in the business, you aren't likely to know too much about current American theater, if you live in another country. It would do a lot of good to get out of the US-centric thinking, because there's fans of good stories all around.

I'm not even joking, during the season 8 finale of HIMYM, I was listening to this song over and over since it reminded me of what Ted and the mother's story would be like, I was putting on THIS version, and then when I saw the mother on the screen as Cristin Milioti, I flipped. I was like "WAIT WASN'T THAT.......!!!???????

nascarkraz I'd love to see Cristin and Neil sing together, they've both been on Broadway, so they both have "theatre" voices. I love all the musical numbers the show has, The Longest Time and Nothing Suits Me Like A suit were the best ones. Speaking of music, I think Robin Sparkles will be back! It was said in a Comic Con interview. I love Cristin so much though, the next episode will be all about the Mother, if only there were a promo though, I really hope we find out about the Mother's musical side in the next episode.

This song has a little magic around it. Introduced as best song nominee at the Oscars by Dubliner Colin Farrell (he was "chuffed"). It won, coming from a small budget indie film. Glen's acceptance was very touching. Then Jon Stewart called Marketa back on stage after she'd been cut off. There are rarely Oscar moments as good as this. Then, the same story converts to a huge hit and many Tonys on Broadway.

It's not simply a cover, it's from the Broadway production. If you had seen the show, it certainly was magical. Moved me to tears twice, one of them during this song, the reprise at the end. Simply outstanding.

I've watched the Oscars for many years and don't think I've ever liked any moment better than when Glen and Marketa won for this song. Glen's acceptance was so humble and very real. Marketa was pushed off before she could say anything. After a commercial Jon Stewart called her back to the stage.
