Searched and found Cristina is not on the so-called '20 most famous female opera singers' or '15 greatest female opera singers'. Obviously, all those article writers have gotten no ears.
Giudicare una cantante da altro che non sia la voce, che è infine quello che le si chiede, è pretestuoso e profondamente ingiusto Oggi siamo pieni di miagolatori variamente in commedia
one of the most versatile and under-recognized, under-appreciated singers of the 20th century. dramatic, lyric, coloratura, mezzo -- she can sing it all, with applomb!
I saw her as Donna Anna at the Met. I enjoyed her voice but felt as here, she was a little detached. But ,prior to that heard her Vespri Elena there. She WAS ELECTRIFYING. The voice was brilliant, capable of every nuance and in the last act provided pianissimi I have NEVER experienced since. And nobody has since matched her Bolero.
Tommy Ekman I don’t know how she sounded in the house, but she had considerable success with roles that require large voices, such as Turandot. There’s a clip of of her “In Questa Reggia” on RU-vid, and it’s pretty fantastic. My issue here is with her interpretation, which is low on passion, and definitely a bit light. My favorite Donna Anna is Anna Tomowa-Sintow, who sounds like a woman obsessed.
Definitely not a light voice. Bright, yes, but not light. She had the biggest voice of her generation. According to people who heard her live, her voice was louder than Sutherland's, Caballe's or Moser's. I have never found a single person, who heard Deutekom live, to complain about her vocal size or vocal color. Most of them were actually surprised by the size of her voice.
@@jiso5232 If You want to hear a ”big voice” You can hear Birgit Nilsson sing the same aria. Her voice coverd 3 symfoni orchesras in Wagner performance in Bayreuth. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-25HNUjkF8DI.htmlsi=livvynWDClzEitmT
