@@thegenzcompass2526 They’re married… you really are going to say that they should never ever have sex? She was clear that she didn’t want a kid from the start.
I think that there should be a discussion and if she did not want children she could have signed earlier In the season to have her tubes tied when she had surgery for the miscarriage.
She might love a baby, but she'd hate being a parent. You NEED to want to do both. You need to WANT a baby, and WANT to be a good parent. Im childfree, Id hate being a parent for too many reasons to explain here. BUT, I respect, and support young people and kids, hell I help out in summer camps and babysitting duty. But I can only do that if there's no screaming infants, sticky toddlers or moody teens waiting at home.
Chana FB I agree I think Owen wanted the opportunity to be a father so bad. That he didn’t consider Christina point of view at all which was that it’s not that she wouldn’t love her child because she would, but she simply had no aspiration to parent whatsoever.
sheltered exactly. My sister doesn't want a child for multiple reasons (she loves kids, but doesn't want them) and is constantly told by a family member: "when you marry and when you have kids, you will feel a biological pull for it" I do want kids, but I won't let others control when I have them.
Cristina is not out of line here. Her feelings are understandable. Something to think about is the fact that she always said didn't want kids, she got pregnant, she had a miscarriage, she had a crying breakdown, and then she learned to have a life normally. So now that she is pregnant again, that might be in her minds right now. I wonder why she never told Owen about her miscarriage.
That was running through my mind this entire story arch. She had a miscarriage. How was that never mentioned when she got pregnant with Owen's child?!!! That was so frustrating.
***** Exactly. I made me so mad when they were in therapy after it was over and Cristina said "There is no deep dark secret that we can work through." and yet she kept this secret the entire time.
Exactly she should've told Owen about the miscarriage. She barely talked about her relationship with Burke. He had to practically force that conversation out of her. The bottom line is Christina wasn't planning on being with Owen long. Her love and focus was her career. She left him twice to Montana after the plane crash and to Zurich to take over Burke hospital. Remember she practically told Teddy at one point that she could have Owen if she stayed to be her mentor. She chose her gift over love.
Because it was never relevant it wouldn't change anything about how she felt about having a baby. Owen would probably think that was the reason she didn't want one and cling to her just being scared about being a mother when she simply just didn't want to have one.
I agree but at the same time they needed to have a discussion about that before this happens. Yes it is okay to not want a child so u need to fin someone who wants the same thing and not hurt someone who desires to have child and they are both unhappy In some way.😊
This is low key abusive the way he’s trying to manipulate her into having a baby saying do you love don’t you trust me like dude that’s not the problem
i don’t think it’s abusive. he just really wanted a baby, and he couldn’t comprehend how she couldn’t. in this scene it was really clear that cristina didn’t want a baby because she wasn’t looking for one, whereas owen kept on insisting it was because he thought she thought she would be a terrible mother. when she said that keeping their child would never work because she’ll “love it”, what she meant was that loving her child would mean derailing her career. she knew that loving their child meant putting her career second to take care of her child and cristina knew that that wasn’t the path she wanted to take. he didn’t understand that. i don’t think that’s abuse
That's a misunderstand both you and Owen make. She's not afraid she'll love a baby. She does not want a baby but if she had one she would love it because she's not gonna be a monster and have this child but not love it and take care of it. But she KNOWS she would hate this kid for ruining the one thing she truly loves to do. She couldn't be the best surgeon, the person she wants to be if a child was in her life. The distraction of a relationship is all she can handle. He doesn't get it.
This is it. You would have this small person constantly exposed to their mother's unavoidable deep love and deep resentment - that's a horrible thing to live under.
This whole arc made me hate Owen so much. You cannot become a parent for someone else. That is a lifetime commitment that changes everything. There's no compromise when it comes to having kids. If one of you wants them and one doesn't, that relationship has a time limit. Full stop. But he was so focused on what HE wanted that he refused to hear her when she said I DO NOT WANT THIS. It was Burke all over again, except that Burke eventually was honest with himself that he was trying to make Cristina be someone else for him. Owen never achieved even half that much self-awareness.
if he continues to force the idea of keeping the baby on her when she has made it very clear that she is obviously telling you that she does not want a baby... he will be pushing her away...marriage is also about respect and she respects the fact that he wants kids why the hell cant he give the same in return by respecting the fact that she knows she is not cut out to be a mother...some women arent and alot of women will proudly admit that they dont want kids
I shipped crowen so hard and a decade later watching this just makes me so mad. She doesn’t want a baby. How many times does she have to say it ? He’s just not listening. Or just doesn’t care.
how hard is it to understand that she did not want a baby? ugh.... i can't believe this was the main reason they couldn't be together.. im happy shonda let my girl, cristina yang, have the ending she deserved!
why is it so hard to believe that women don't need a baby to feel complete? life is much more than that, we have other priorities that make us complete.
God!!! I've been reading all you guys' fighting and I'm just thinking that last season really ended correctly!! And you're helping me imagine what's happening next!! Thanks!! :) lol Can't wait!!
Omg i cant beleave that my precious cristina had to deal with this man, burke was so much better, he would never said things this hurtful to her, he would never cheated on her...
burke wasnt better, je wanted her to change for something she was, all the man in her life acted that way toward her, nobody she has been with in the show deserved her
@@twiyor if you compare these two you can see that burke was better, yes he made a mistake trying to change her, but he left and then gave her what she always wanted, a hospital.
@@twiyor i like cristina and burke because they both were kinda horrible 🗣🗣 but yeah cristina deserved more, at least burke at the end gave what she deserved
The last replies in this clip, why does some people make the question of love to this; if you love me, do something you do not want to do to prove you love me??!!
@lorelailee1986 Bailey didn't say Cristina couldn't have any more babies. She said she didn't want Mer to scrub in in Cristina's surgery because she deserved privacy and she said the abortion wasn't Mer's fault 'cause she took Cris out for jogging that morning
oh crap, she doesn't want a baby, she is the person who will have to change her life, her body, for a baby that she doesn't really want? wake up, it's impossible to have a half baby, like she said, all both parents have to agree when the subject is raising a child, especially the mother, the women. it's like to obligate a woman to have a pregnancy, just for him keep the baby. i will be extremely disappointing if shonda make her have this pregnancy.
@italoluder In this case, the choice is all about the mother, he can have feelings, is something that he wants, but he can't put thing like this, in the end of this episode, he was so immature about it. some cases love is not enough, so you have to let it go. and about the tubes, this pregnancy and the baby, is something that she doesn't want in the moment, maybe in the future she will have one, but also it's up to her. things are not like "i don't want the baby now, so let's tie my tubes".
@OrinUK yeah but Kevin McKidd said also their problems would not have anything to do with a baby....and it definately has to do with a baby. After all I dont care....as long as the make up again. With drama and passion. I love them. And he is hot! I adore him.
Next season i think they'll be apart for a long time but i think it's a good thing because they need to solve their communication's issues once and for all before the baby's birth.I adore her 'cause she has always been so honest with him about what she wanted for her life so he can't blame her for not having kids. She should have decided with him about the appointment and wait a little bi longer but i don't think he's the victim here at all .He made a lot of crappy choices too
Christina doesn't want to have a baby cool. We get it. My peoblem is when she found out that instead of telling Owen she is pregnant knowing he wants a child. Ahe should have just had the procedure done.
@yangohfan I guess eporter 84 is talking about Owen - choking Cristina - bringing Teddy to SGH for whom he has feelings (he may even love her as he never answered on Cris' question if he's loving her or not) - denys Cris the position of chief resident - and in the beginning playing hot and cold with her and later showing up all drunk on their first date - letting his PTD problems out on Cristina Thats at least the stuff I haven't yet forgotten. Nevertheless love this two :D
@1college07 agree. But I think that even if they did, the one that wants a baby mostly think that the one that dosen't want a baby will get uesed to the idea once a pregnancy happens. Expesially if that person is a woman, for some reson...I love this scenes!
@italoluder every women have the choice to do whatever they want to do with their own bodies, with their lives, is not just because she is with someone who loves her that she will want a baby, and yes, she is pregnant, but it's also her choice to keep this pregnancy until the end, the concept of life is not even right when the baby has not born. she will have a baby and this pregnancy that she doesn't want just because she is marriage? i don't agree, nobody has the right to do that, not fair.
Owem eu sei que vc que filhos, mais ela não que, independente ela é apaixonada por vc e porque não evitaram a gravidez para que vocês não sofresse e esperace um tempo até que ela estivesse preparada para ter o filho.
If Christina was different how could there life have been with a baby? I know they showed an alternate reality of if she had a child with Owen and she regretted it and was miserable. She only did it for Owen but what if she wanted kids like everybody else and had a great life with Owen and the kids and she never left to Switzerland
@italoluder oh, and is not about that in particular the why that i don't like owen, i never liked it. the war, altman, the character, some opinions, and now this, well, it's just my opinion.
@OrinUK He is practically BEGGING her to keep this baby? This just melts my heart.Arent you just a little sorry for him? He is so comforting, he loves her. I just love him! I loved him from the very beginning. Because he is such an honourable guy with absolutely NO ulterior motives. A real gentleman. He slept with her after so many weeks for the first time. Which is so rare today. He married her, did not humiliate her like Burke, they have a home, good jobs, WHERE IS THE PROBLEM????
But I like the part when she says: I am not a monster. I think she would be a great mother and thats the pity of it all: She thinks she wouldnt. But she has sooooo much to give. If she had an unhappy childhood NOW is the chance to make it better. With the man who loves you? There are not many people who could say that.
I don’t understand why Owen is the villain for wanting a kid. They just didn’t need to get married at all. Because as much as everyone wants Owen to understand and respect what she wants, she should do the same for him. I mean, that’s equality in a relationship right? At that point, they’d reached a place in their relationship is where it ultimately should have dissolved and they went they’re separate ways. Cristina is not a villain for not wanting kids. And Owen is not a criminal for desiring them. They went about their needs in a way that ultimately hurt them both.
I so wann'a find out already why is she so afraid to love a baby? Is she scared she'll love him but she'll be a crappy mom and destroy his life and than feel blame? I want to find out WHY!!!
Netta Tal She isn't afraid to love a baby, that was Owens interpretation. She doesn't desire to live a life where she takes a kid to a soccer game and bakes cupcakes and goes to parent student meetings etc. Most females have a natural desire to procreate but Cristina does not.
@KristenGall1998 same I think she could grow to love their baby but I think that she does need to stop being so stubborn and listen to what owen is saying
@danidandani16 WHY??????? Because he wants that baby? Whats wrong with him wanting it and trying to convince her to keep it? Its his own flesh and blood. I dont get some of you. She is right. But he is also. Dont hate him for beeing happy about this baby....thats not fair. Besides: Christina has always done what she wants. If she really does not want it she will have the abortion. Will you still hate him then? I like Owen because he knows her so well. Christina would be a great mother.
@OrinUK I think you got me wrong. Usually I like Christina. And it is ok she does not want a baby....but she got pregnant twice. This sucks! I want them back together. I want her to keep this baby. But I think Christina should learn not to be that rude. And she was rude with him. by the end of the day she said to Mer after she asked why didnt you tell me: Because you had a busy day. she cares more about her. Christina needs a little punishment. Owen loves her. you cant treat people like that.
Wtf is wrong with you No she shouldn't keep a baby she doesnt want and will not love. And no she does not deserve to be punished. Its her body her choice
@SenseOrSensibility sorry but thats the most stupid thing I ever heard.....and by the way: If it was possible: He WOULD have carried it for 9 months. Just for the record. Its her choice. Right. she does not want babies. OK. But many people were really unfair and blamed him because he dared to be happy happy about the pregnancy. And thats just so stupid. Am I right or not?
Reasons why she will have the baby: 1. She told Owen. Because she is unsure about the abortion and wants to be convinced 2. Why would Shonda let her be pregnant again when Christina wants absolutely NO kids? 3. She already lost a baby. 4. She cried when he asked her if it has hands. 5.She proved she is good with kids (the little girl in Season 6), 6. She is with Mer now. She will convince her and will be surrounded by Zola all day long. 7. IT'S OWENS BABY. SHE WOULD NEVER DO THAT.
I just don't agree with Cristina here, for the first time i find it very hard to support her. A man who you're in love with is standing in front of you almost begging you to carry full term a baby that is a result of love and she just refuses for her WORK? i mean how can Owen stay with her?
Are you kidding me? "Just for work"...do you have any idea how all consuming motherhood is? Being a mother is a 24/7 - 365 - lifetime commitment, even with the most supportive partner and all the financial resources you can throw at it. Cristina doesn't want to be a mother. Period. This isn't a work juggling decision. It's not about if the guy is sweet and hot enough decision. Some women just don't want to be mothers, no really. It's 1000% OK for people to decide breeding is not for them. People like you pretend that all women should have a secret maternal instinct switch that turns on and makes them love motherhood if the a rich and hot enough guy flip it, but that simply isn't the case. It is totally possible and valid to be in a wonderful marriage with plenty of money and even a cushy job you don't care about and STILL not want to be a parent. Why is this so hard for people to understand? If he wanted kids, he should have married someone else, period.
Melissa Homer Right, she literally said she didn’t want kids and he just thought she was what, kidding? Owens such a pro-lifer it’s so stupid. If Cristina doesn’t want to have kids, don’t make her, she’s not an incubator. I hate Owen Hunt.
@@melissaahomer this is definitely something that should’ve kept them from getting married. He assumed that she might change her mind. They never really talked about it outside of the small comment she made during s surgery one time. And that was early early on in their relationship. I doubt he would’ve remembered it. They should’ve talked about it in greater depth. Because if the shoe were on the other foot, people would hate owen for saying he didn’t want a kid when he knew that she did want one.
I am SO pissed! I totally respect women who dont want to be a mother. really. But this is NOT the point here. why didnt she have her damned tubes tied if she is so sure. Now she IS pregnant. Its not just about her. But its about a baby and a husband. Stand by your responsibility. You can take care of a child. you are a doctor, married to someone who loves you. you are not alone. God damned. This really pisses me off.
A good friend of mine got pregnant and totally wanted to abort. she made up her mind because she did not have the guts. I met her a few days ago and she smiled and said her baby girl is so sweet and nice. She said when she smiles at her every morning on waking up she feels like crap for not wanting her in the beginning. Thats what will happen too with christina. you dont kill a child that easy when you are in a loving marriage. no sir.
