Great recap, thank you for making this. Over the years of watching you, I believe we have the same taste for film and I couldn't agree more about your selects for October. Will also be picking up Pandora's Box and the Val Lewtons as well.

Gummo is definitely worth a watch sir. Watched it when I was much younger and certainly not for the faint of heart but it definitely has its place

Awesome. I see myself picking up all these as well except for Gummo. Very excited for Pandora’s Box and the Val Lewton double feature.

I have Gummo on DVD (my version is 85 minutes, I'm not sure if it has been cut down) Probably one of the strangest films I have ever seen. There is no plot at all, just a series of scenes, some of which are connected. Some scenes work well, others not so much, and you never know what is coming next. I was disappointed when it finished so it must have something going for it !

Hello, Steve! I’ve seen a lot of comments on this title Gummo. It’s a very divisive title for sure that is sparking much discussion. I’m on the fence as to whether or not I will be picking it up.

I have the Criterion DVD of Pandora's Box and will get the upgrade. I'll also get the Val Lewton double feature, I have those 2 on DVD from an old box set 🙂 Demon Pond sounds intriguing and may take a chance on that. Gummo is absolute trash. If curious to see, I'd suggest checking out from local library for free. Korine makes John Waters look like Scorsese (I like Waters' films too, he actually has talent as a filmmaker 😅).

@@20thand21stMovies It’s along the lines of Pink Flamingos but toned down. Honestly, I don’t get anything out of those types of films unfortunately. I can watch a movie like Terrifier 2 or any of the Saw sequels and I’m fine but movies like Salo, Pink Flamingos, Happiness, and Gummo I’m just left wondering what the filmmakers were thinking. Also, I checked to see if I was in the minority when it came to Gummo and upon checking it has a 19 on Metacritic. Wondering why Criterion chose it over several other options but I’m happy for the folks that are excited for it.
