I’m jealous because your wife is not only accepting of your collecting, but actually grabbed her own. I think criterion collecting may be the thing that gets me murdered by my wife
Haha! Yeah she’s the best. She’s always been really supportive and encouraging of this hobby. She’s a huge reason why this channel is still going strong
You got it good. Even at regular price, your Criterions in the states are a better buy than in canada. They usually retail at least the equivalent of $50 USD 😢
I suspect the Criterions that did not ring up the 50% sales were probably ones that were not supposed to be out yet. I know the pre-orders are on sale online, but they don't ship until they are released and that is probably why they were under the counter rather than in the display racks.
We recorded this on release day (Jul 11), so they were supposed to be out. There were a bunch of Watermelon Woman copies out on the racks already. It was just the After Hours that hadn’t been put out yet for some reason.
@@FilmsByColor Rules of the Game 4k, Fisher King 4k, Rebecca, Uncut Gems, The New World, Boyhood, Desert Hearts, Paris, Texas, After Hours 4k, Inside Llewyn Davis, Uncut Gems 4k, Punch Drunk Love, Petite Maman, The Servant, All About Eve, and Targets. *whew* lol
shit ! is that a store wide sale?... They've always had a great section ... but it's rare that you can find a break on price for Criterion but.. AWESOME FIND with "After Hours"... such a great film!!! ps I love Grace... chicks who love film are the best!
Same! Last year I drove like an hour for a grip of movies because that was the only barnes and noble that had the Malcolm X 4K according to the website... Couldn't find it on the shelf, asked for help and the guy wasn't sure what was going on either..but I was the one that ended up finding a box of them tucked behind the desk lol
@@NateB1976 found 2 already, we are closing it down, censorship prevents learning from everything One is the easy rider blu-ray and I heard a scene here and blur there, we will catch them all.
@@NateB1976no they don’t. There’s been reports of a censored version of French Connection showing up on the Criterion CHANNEL. Still not good but having an edited version that was given to you for streaming vs putting out a disc of a censored version are very different things. Should it happen at all? No but criterion aren’t trying to censor art like this person is suggesting
