In this webinar, Philip Marris, the CEO of Marris Consulting, talks with Efrat Goldratt-Ashlag about her new book "Goldratt's Rules of Flow".
The initial description of Critical Chain Project Management is over 25 years old. Her recent book published in January 2023 is the new introduction to the subject. It is the new first step to begin your Critical Chain journey.
The first part of this webinar tells the story of the origins of the Critical Chain. Efrat draws parallels between her father's book "Critical Chain" written in 1997, and her new book "Goldratt's Rules of Flow" published in January 2023.
The second part is dedicated to multitasking and the bad effects of switching between projects.
Then, she goes through "full kitting" and its benefits.
The theoretical concepts discussed by Efrat are explained in concrete examples by Philip Marris, using Marris Consulting client case studies.
The webinar ends with a question and answer session.

38:45 Which is the first book we should now read if we are interested in this Theory of Constraints approach to project management? "Critical Chain" 1997 or "Goldratt's Rules of Flow" 2023?
39:58 Can you tell us how many translations of the book are in progress or have already been published? And in which languages?
41:36 Where should I start? Apart from reading the book, what's next?
43:44 How do we reduce multitasking if the management does not have the courage to freeze projects or reduce the number of simultaneous projects in the company?
46:49 I am convinced but I am having a hard time convincing my manager. What are the best tools to learn socratic teaching to influence management?
48:51 What are the qualitative impacts of adopting the "Rules of Flow" in a project environment?

@marrisconsulting Marris Consulting, thank you for openly sharing this excellent webinar. Regarding the full-kit concept Efrat explained, I find it very similar to the one-piece-flow concept from Lean/The Toyota Production System. That similarity is most likely no coincidence, because both concepts are related to improving flow. I hope you could elaborate on this in the next video! Thank you!

We agree that the obsession with improving flow is at the heart of both (good) Lean and the Theory Of Constraints (Critical Chain in projects and DBR in production). Thank you for your comment!

excellent webinar. Thank you.I wonder if the parts of the book that was not added that was so important and interesting can be made available in pdf download format only. no printing costs involved. Otherwise it will be a shame that your specific insights are lost to the public.
