I mean come on, they destroyed the entire message behind Mulan in the Live action version. They made her a Mutant and told all little girls that you can only be Special if you are born Special. For me, that was the beginning of the downfall of Disney. One of the strongest female characters of all Disney movies, and they destroyed it just to make her the strongest because "Woman Empowerment." Only problem was they got rid of everything that made the Character of Mulan strong in the first place.

I don't think the central idea behind DEI is wrong. Problem is doing it forcefully. Doing it for the sake of doing it rather than naturally. Like Black Panther movie. I am an Asian American and don't mind seeing Asians in movies. But if the movie is bad and boring I don't want to watch that movie, even if it has Asians. I don't want company like Disney to pander to me when all I want is entertaining movies.

I just hope representation in general doesn't become a casualty of the backlash over Disney and Hollywood's lack of good stories and characters. There is some legit great media out there full of representation but never feels forced, preachy or condescending.

Disney is more of a "Gilligan's Island" and "My Favorite Martian" style institution. They should be making shows like "The Computer who Wore Tennis Shoes" that is what they are good at not serious storytelling.

Woke content is not for the modern audience. It's about creating the modern audience. They're not losing money, they're investing in the expansion of the woke religion.

Inside out 2 and Deadpool 3 were litmus tests as to weather the woke were right about modern audiences and toxic fandoms. In both cases the woke were not only proven wrong but absolutely lying to upper management and manipulating numbers in such a manner as to hide what was (imo) absolute embezzlement to fund not only themselves but to shunt movie funds to personal and private initiatives and endeavors into gaming, politics and media since 2008. This isnt so much of a backlash (yet!) as a course correction back to a neutral mode of storytelling and the woke after tasting the power of near total control is freaking out the flow of it is being severed. Mark my words if companies do not radically limit the woke immediately they will try to actively destroy any company they have even the illusion of control out of shear feminine spite for being exposed and limits placed on the control of the discourse.

I'll be more optimistic about Disney future projects if Ryan would just go full Deadpool on those DEI execs and make a hostile takeover of the company. Iger has to go. He, along with his fellow execs who still support DEI agendas and promoting the premium gay ideology, should be fired by the majority stakeholders in the company since they are the major cause of Disney company's downfall. They kept grooming kids through their shows, their movies, it's just sick and it has to be stopped.

If they can clean house and get back to how they used to be, they could turn it around. Problem is most of their company is probably activists and they are not going to give up their jobs without a fight. So I'm hoping within 5-10 years.

The BEST thing about Joker 2 is pretty much across the board nobody likes this movie and Hollywood and the media can’t blame racism or sexism or bigotry or any of their favorite excuses! It’s gone on WAY too fuckin long and it’s almost impossible now to not realize that hate for the sake of hate will always exist but the MASS MAJORITY of audiences only care about storytelling and its power to move us. We are all connected in our love of stories. What Hollywood is doing when they blame the audience for their over priced trash product by labeling them members of hate groups and dividing people by accusing them of basically hateing each other on matters that have plagued civilization throughout time should be a fuckin crime. Hollywoods strategy to cope with their failures instead of taking accountability for a poor product is to make people think we all just hate each other by telling any smaller group that the larger group hates you, if you’re a woman men hate you and so on. The more I think about it the more I’m blown away Hollywood or any business is doing this. It’s basically psychological warfare and it is dangerous. At this point RU-vidrs and other social media is actually doing something good for once because it’s not allowing only one side a platform and the real people are fighting hard to be heard that the massive majority of audiences only hate the product we are being sold and not each other.

It’s one thing to fire all the know-nothing diversity hires that have run the company into the ground. It’s quite another to find and hire actual talented artists, storytellers and directors, more talented than their competitors, that work together to produce great stories. This is the difficult thing that Walt and Roy achieved 70 years ago. That will be nearly impossible to replicate. Disney may recover from Iger’s folly, but at best it will be an also-ran, no better than its competitors. The Dream Team that Disney had is gone forever.

I remember a time when Disney wasn't trying so hard to be diverse, they did it in a way that felt natural

The writing is the biggest problem. Disney needs writers who actually know the characters of the franchise and are faithful to the stories. Another area is cast better actors for the lead roles and even supporting cast. Acolyte lead girl is a bland actress who cannot emote her lines. The writing on Ahsoka was poor, with bad dialogue. Ironically the actress playing Ahsoka is actually a better actor than the dialogue gave her. Also she plays a stoic person with less emotion and it does not pay off. The same actress was in the Haunted House movie from Disney and her acting was much better and full of emotion. Sabine did not have good dialogue. Make it a mixed cast (male and female in leads) of better actors and dialogue will help. Less mostly all women casts, make it mixed with stronger actors and better writing and directing.

Its so weird because there are people that fit in the "boxes" that are great writers and love these genres that could have been huge positive affect on these stories. Its not about them being "woke" its about not doing the right thing

I don't think Disney or better yet Hollywood will change. It'll take the crashing and splitting of the industy for it to happen.

I love how the Disney rep tries to make it look like the choices are binary.: Whites only, or Diverse Disney can aim at any market they want. It's the utterly ham-fisted messaging, and allowing creatives attached to the projects, to attack and insult the audience when not interested. People often loose interest before the project is released, because said creatives are preemptively attacking them I don't care who you want to have sex with, your chromosome arrangement, what you wish that arrangement was, or the religion of any creative. Tell me an entertaining story! Even some non-subtle storytelling is ok, if the story is entertaining, and the creatives aren;t attacking fans.

Black Panther wasn’t successful because there were black people in it. It was successful because it was a run up to Endgame. Let’s not forget Captain Marvel made a billion dollars too. Also BP 2 made SIGNIFICANTLY less money than the original.

The black man going to black panther, a movie most people liked as an example of DEI working. If the first Black Panther was released today, that movie would flop in the theatre. Its now a domino affect where ego actors who absorb budget. Disney does not seem to understand that movie warchers are generation viewers, and if the parent loss interest, so would children in the household. I am a fan of the MCU but no only by RU-vidrs who actually provide the backstory to explain how the content relates to the comics. The first, films of the MCU was great with limited budget but now with foece gender instaed of a balance of cool characters regardless if male or female. Disney is paying to control the narrative of time today to create a false historic representation. Destorying Star Wars, Marvel and even just animation is crazy.
