10:30 this moment is so perfect for so many reasons: 1. The answer itself 2. Liam and Laura saying it at the same time with Matt saying “You can see why they’re the twins” 3. And Travis saying “Ma’am excuse me this is an Arby’s” It’s so perfect I had to watch it like 4 times
It would. I mean, Vox Machina is wild enough, since it is still a name based on an above table joke about the real life professions of the players that has absolutely no explanation inside the story. If they had ever dreamed of converting this into an animated series when they started it, they would probably have chosen a different name. Same with the Mighty Nein, although that can be at least somewhat explained in story as a wordplay in "Zemnian", but the way it came about was them failing a lot of checks by rolling a lot of nines in a row, which led to the nine/nein pun above table in the early game, and making that nonsensical wordplay their party name on a whim. It was hilarious how undecisive and hesitant they were about their group name in campaign 3 by contrast, one really could tell they wanted something funny again, but it also needed to make sense in game and sound reasonably badass, because chances are it might become an animated series.
I mean, Thordak IS the big bad of the current season and of the corresponding major campaign arc, it's not like it would turn out that the OTHER late campaign big bad was behind the Chroma Conclave all along.
13:00 I like that Matt gets to stop himself. Nobody minds the loredump. Everyone loves the loredump. More loredumping, Matt, please.
I never watched critical role. But it got all my friends into dnd. So I just want to say thank you for introducing so many people to the tabletop community !
I truly would love to see one of these for Dimension 20 answering all of the most googled questions around the Intrepid Heroes campaigns (Fantasy High, The Unsleeping City, Nevermore, A Crown of Candy, ect.) Especially with them going on tour next year.
I know just Vex and Vax are siblings in game but it always feels like the whole crew has such sibling dynamics our of the game that it makes every video so fun and comforting to watch :)
For anyone who's animated series only: this interview does spoil a lot for season 4 onwards. They don't always say explicitly what the spoiler is, but they're at least very blatantly implied.
not big mistake for someone who doesnt play such games. Or they meant level as a word like level 26 strength. to someone who doesnt play games or rpg's 26 strength might not tell as much as level 26 strength
8:53 It's hilarious and awesome that Sam immediately knew the episode and name of the episode for A Bard's Lament. It's tragic and pains me that we did not get an adaptation of it, possibly some of the most emotionally charged events of the series.
Every member of Vox machina had a bit fo crush on Percy at one moment of the campaign or another, so Perce being thr most popular is accurate both in and out of the world👍
8:06 watching campaign 3 I'm literally on my knees PRAYING Vax can somehow return and reunite with Keyleth and Vex'ahlia. I think his ending in C1 was heartbreaking but succinct and a perfect ending for his arc as the CoR, however if there's a *chance* he can return to the mortal realm we would be SO GRATEFUL, MATT 🙏🏼❤️
Who is Ripley? Matt's brain: "Well, Joseph Goebbels, but I don't want to get Wired demonetized..." Matt: "Ripley is, uh...an intelligent engineering mind...with a lot of ambitions..."
To be fair, Percy likely has a disproportionate number of searches because season one was the Briarwoods, which put his personal story front and center for pretty much the entire first season. Everyone else kind of had to play catch up in seasons 2 and 3. Though Percy is a fan favorite of mine as well, as he's very evocative of the type of character I like playing myself.
I feel like there will be a new continent added to Exandria to support Daggerheart and all of its races. I know there is a large amount fo place in all three continents we've never seen. But we also have been to the Shattered Teeth very much, which is likely hundreds of islands. But now we also have an entire new world with Ruidus.
