Comedy gold from a moment of Improv on @criticalrole C3 ep25 Watch it here: • A Taste of Tal'Dorei |... We love this show very much, Dont forget to love each other, Is It Thursday yet? #criticalrole #campaignthree #ep25
I think the spelling was probably like Mycaunse or something so spelling wise in his head probably looked like nothing but the pronunciation not so much
If you ever feel bad about accidentally doing this as a DM, just know that the legendary Matthew Mercer has done this multiple times on camera, and take solace in it.
Shout out to highschool me naming a character "Krakor" which sounded like "Crack Whore" when I said it out loud That NPC was murdered brutally shortly after
@@saskiascott8181 YES! Liam in general is just a delightful human being, but his laughter, like when he bursts out laughing uncontrollably and just is dying of laughter to the point where he has to lean onto someone else for support its just so wholesome and adorable and you can't help but laugh with him
This is the last time he gets his list of NPC names from Bart Simpson. Otherwise, we'll get Ivana Tinkle, Homer Sexual, I.P. Freely and Amanda Hugenkiss soon.
@@bingex3649 yeah! Isn't that I.C's brother? That couldn't be. Some kid delivered a pizza to his cryogenic lab a few years ago and nobody's seen him since. Wonder if he'll pop up again sometime! 🤣
@@Kosomaddo 🎵 John Jacob Heywood Jablome. His name is my name too. Whenever we go out the people always shout, JOHN JACOB HEYWOOD JABLOME! DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH 🎵
At one of the high schools I went to, we actually had a kid named Mike Hunt. He wore it like a badge of honor and was generally the class clown type. Fun memories.
Just have a photo of Laura Bailey and see if he has the knee-jerk reaction to backpedal when he says a name to her The CR version of Rubber Ducky Debugging
Especially from the experience of "Pervon" and the fact that he changed the terminology in the D&D rules for "taint" because he knew what the group (particularly Sam) would do.
you try looking at "i mull of mush sheen" and see how long until you realize what you're saying. if it's spelled funny, you often don't notice it's dirty sounding just from looking at how it's spelled
I once had a very important Npc in my game (like super big part of the story, had to be in the game) that I named Nudelle (pronounced Nuh Dell). However the accent I gave the person introducing them made it sound like Noodle. My pcs either called that character Noodles or Spaghetti the rest of the campaign.
Thanks for these videos! 🙂 I spend SO much time during these episodes on RU-vid just running back and watching everyone's reactions during intense or funny moments. It great. 😄
I have Mike Hunt's backstory. FCG's friend P**sy could no longer suffer the constant taunting it's name inspired. So, it changed it to the strongest name it could think of Mike Hunt. Unfortunately...
I used to DM for a group and when they asked for the name of a... "House of Lady Favors" as Grog would put it. I simply asked one player to pick a color while another pick a noun. and that's how The Orange Bush became a canonical brothel in my campaign. So I simply decided that all the employees were Hobgoblins.
As someone who does shit like this on the regular, it really isn't on purpose. you just think "oh shoot just uh...say a random noise that's the new npc's name!" And panik
I remember in high school one of my teachers was named Mrs. Bush, and she was pregnant at the time, and she told us that if she had a son, she wouldn't call him Harry.
Mike Hunt was a Charicter in Kollok1991 a show Matt Guested on as an FBI agent that was created and GMd by Critical Roles original Producer "Overlord Zac" the charicter died rightvaround when Matt was on the show so Kollok fans are now sayingbits the same charicter reincarnated The charicter had the power of invunarability but after an accident w a healer was severly messed up when everyone lost thier powers he finally died from the injuries 😢
I love how instead of changing the name or trying to get the party back on track, he leans into it and quickly gives this random NPC a backstory of getting bullied for their name lmaooo
I think when Matt is writing the names down. There is like the apostrophes in some of the words, like you see in Gaelic or latin and he is just pronouncing the word with that inflection. Not realizing that no one else has actually seen the character name written out.
Wanted to lampshade this in case it happened in my game, so i made a put upon Guard Captain named Fayless. First scene he was in, there was a Lady there organizing a festival who kept calling him Captain Phallus. Players loved it.
My players will never let me forget the time i named an NPC "Glintoris" I honestly didn't realise until they collapsed in howls of laughter the first time he introduced himself. Always say your NPC names out loud when you're prepping....just in case....
