Interestingly enough, your bi-conditional example: I'm alive only if I'm breathing isn't sound. If you can breathe, you're alive, but if you're alive, you aren't necessarily breathing. You could be choking, for example. Of course, you aren't going to be alive for much longer unless you can restore your breathing. Distilling the logic from language isn't always easy.

Aaah, but what if you are on a breathing machine? Then the machine breathes you. A very controversial topic this is.

TheBerkeleyBeauty It's not complicated. If you are choking, you aren't breathing, but you could still be alive. Therefore, his example isn't sound. The other two are being pedantic. No Google because time period is irrelevant and Mister because breathing isn't simply the process of moving air in your lungs (though that is part of the process). They probably said what they did assuming I was being pedantic. I'm not. My distinction is important. We don't necessarily declare time of death when breathing stops for a reason.

Keep in mind that an invalid argument does not mean that it’s a bad argument it can be a perfectly fine inductive argument. Given the new information that A is false makes it more likely that B is also false, even if not necessarily so

My applause and appreciation to David and the crew . It would seem that what most American believe to be their " knowledge " is in actuality nothing more than prejudice formed before the age of fifteen . It is important that you " believe nothing that you read and only half of what you see " that is the definition of " critical thinking "

I wonder if people falling for this fallacy are confusing the converse with the contrapositive. They think (A -> B) -> (B -> A) is true, but it's (A -> B) -> (~B -> ~A) that is true... I wish there could be a poll or something.

There is too less of this series! Could you keep up with this logic fallacies series? Explaining the abstract and symbolic logic is hard. I saw a lot of video explaining this and yours is the least confusing one! By the way, if you could add key words like "logical fallacies" "formal fallacies" in video titles or hashtags, the seo result would be much better. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing more on logical fallacies.

I can accept what you say, and am very saddened by it. Your complete lack of understanding of content relevancy and context is depressing - assuming you are being truthful. Or perhaps you merely expressed yourself poorly. But your link was not relevant. It was commercial bullshit about guitar picks, and someone selling himself (probably you) as a teacher on the subject. My only regret is that I have but one "thumbs Down" to give for honesty and decency.

Wrong demographic, actually idk how many DPS fans play guitar. I can play basic chords and have a mediocre guitar, but me being drawn to that link was completely coincidental and unfortunately I don't need guitar picks.

I do enjoy watching the broadcast although I am not interested in donating money directly to the show. But I support the show through my views and commentary.
