Critics Blast 'Blasphemous' Religious Imagery on the 2024 Campaign Trail

The 2024 intersection of faith and politics is on display, from a messianic-like video which claims, "God looked down on his planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker,' so God gave us Trump," to some comparing the former president to Jesus Christ.
"Believe that the man that can help this nation - the one man that was ridiculed, destroyed as - Jesus. Trump can come back and save the American dream for all," Academy Award winner Jon Voight said in a video earlier this year.
When President Trump entered the scene in 2016, he was not a regular churchgoer, nor was he seen as a person of deep faith. Now, eight years later, he is incorporating religion into his re-election bid for the White House.

The Bible includes several passages that warn against adding to or taking away from God's Word, including Deuteronomy 4:2, Proverbs 30:5-6, and Revelation 22:18-19:

Personally as a pastor, I do not preach politics in the pulpit. I preach Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. Voting is a right in our country that exists because of those that sacrificed to secure it. I would never tell someone whom to vote for, or not to vote. I preach what’s right and what’s wrong according to the scripture. People have to choose whether they will follow it or not.

God Always chooses people in Every century to do some Special Things. there are plenty of examples in the Bible of How God choose people who were not perfect but those people did work, that helped Humanity and restored order on the planet. For Example: King David was not great perfect guy, but God Choose him to lead Israel and restore order in the land of Israel. God also Chooses people to Punish People. For Example: in the Bible God choose enemies of Israel to Punish Israel when the Israelites disobeyed the teachings of God. So this idea just because some guy is not Godly or perfect, therefore God not going to choose him is nonsense, the Fact is God is Omnipresent and will works all the time it does not matter what century we are living in or how modern society gets, the Fact is God is in Control all the Time. I am a long-time Christian. This bringing Christianity into politics is a terrible idea. Our founding fathers and those who died in the war for independence very wisely established our government with a SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE. As a Christian I don’t want a “Christian government” here on earth unless it is put in after the Second Coming of Jesus. I simply hope for a person of good character, who will defend the Constitution and do their best to make the U.S. as strong and free as possible, and do right by all the people. I agree that it is a strategic move, and sadly may lead to the banning of the Bible or a call to ban the Bible and Christianity items by many people who aren't Christians or know much about the religion without it being skewed.
