Critics slam China's New Year TV gala for erasing Uyghur culture | Radio Free Asia (RFA)

Very little of the segment was actually Uyghur. The mostly Muslim Uyghurs traditionally don't even celebrate the Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival.
The songs were sung in Mandarin, the dances were not authentically Uyghur and the performers’ costumes were more Middle Eastern in style, members of the Uyghur diaspora told Radio Free Asia.

Exactly, and this tv show is 4 hour long, featuring performances from many different cities and ethnicities. Some people are so ignorant, they don’t even bother to check these facts before typing on their keyboard.

Well, most of the world traditionally don't celebrate Gregorian New Year. And this show doesn't tend to feature Uygur only but other ethnicity in Xinjiang as well, such as Han Chinese, Kazak, Kirgiz, Mongol, Tajik, Tatar, Daur, Russian,... It's hilarious that Western media often skips these ethnicities when reporting about Xinjiang

In history, Xinjiang was ruled by the Qing Dynasty in China and the Chagatai khanate established by the Mongols.In more ancient times, the rule here was the Western Liao established by the Qidan people from the Liao Dynasty in China.In more ancient times, it belonged to the Anxi Provincial Government of the Tang Dynasty. From beginning to end, Uighurs have never established any independent country.Xinjiang has always belonged to China.Since the Han Dynasty 2000 years ago.

Historically, the Qing emperor in China obtained Xinjiang from the Zhungeer khanate established by Mongols.The Mongols acquired Xinjiang from the Western Liao Empire established by the Chinese.These can be found in Google.This place has never belonged to Uighurs.China is the master here and will always be the master of Xinjiang, and no one can change this fact😂.
