Back in the early to mid 2000s, critics would bash Hilary Duff movies for literally no good reason. It was as if they were all immune to creative IPs that absolutely served and became a huge part of not only people's childhoods but also of millennial and to some extent Gen Z culture. These critics, that were obviously out of touch, then had their reviews aggregared by Metacritic that gave Hilary Duff movies a bad rep, which definitely had an impact on her film career. It's almost like these grown butt critics were hoping for Hilary Duff to fail and not amount to anything outside of her television show Lizzie McGuire. So in this video, we're gonna go over some of the iconic roles she has had in movies including Cheaper by the Dozen, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, The Perfect Man, Agent Cody Banks and A Cinderella Story and how these movies were unfairly reviewed by critics and had way more depth to them than what the reviews gave them credit for.
