To fasten you can add a jump ring and a clasp like a lobster claw that should work too

I am having some serious problems understanding this tutorial. Where is the working yarn that is connected to the roll? Where is the tail? How does one end up with a bead at the opposite end of a chain 4 from the hook? And honestly I don't understand the mumbled instructions either. I'm so lost
