Thank you for the pattern and the tutorial. Instructions were very clear. I am a UK 16 and quite busty. So I used 161 (160 + 1) stitches (160 would work both as a multiple of 4 and 8) based on feedback people have given on sizing here, and it seems to have worked. I also used a thicker 100% cotton yarn which I had recycled from another sweater. I'd probably need more stiches if I were using DK. For those struggling with size, I think it could help to keep crocheting (the first row) till the length fits the length you want on both your arms (drape it across your back and shoulders) and round up/down the number of stitches to a number that is a multiple of both 4 and 8 (e.g. 144, 152, 160, 168 etc). Hope that helps!
Hi thanks for your input. I think I'm a size 18 and probably even bustier 😂. I've got a thickish cotton based yarn which I'm going to use a size 6 crochet hook with. I hope it works 😊 out. Thanks from Debbie in South Africa!! I hope yours turned out great!! ❤
I am on my second Pixie Bolero, The first one I made for a friend, but found that it was abit small for me.... so I am on my second one and making it bigger (was blessed in the chest department lol).... nearly done, and I just LOVE BUTTONS, so can't wait for this girl to be done, also making her in 100% crochet cotton, thank you for such clear instructions and being an amazing teacher x
Hey Michelle, so I did what she said, added 8 stiches(chains) to my first row... so you will have 144 + 1 (145) chains to start, this is where you add the extra 8 stitches, then I worked it out to be 72 Boxes (2nd row), 145 Double Crochets, 35 Loops and 2 Half loops, 18 Shells in total, then 36 different boxes above the shell row to make the next support row.... this is how I worked it out, but always counted, esp the double crochet rows.... if those are out your whole pattern is wrong. I hope this helps you 🙂 Anja's pattern is 136 +1 chains begin with 137 chains/ 68 boxes/137 double crochets/ 33 loops, 2 half loops/ 17 shells/ 34 different boxes. @@michellevangsgaard1976
Hello, I just wanted to tell you that I figured out what I did wrong. And I finished my bolero, today. I love the way it came out. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful pattern.
I am in love with the bolero it's so beautiful ❤️❤️ i will make one for my eldest daughter she will love it too maybe i will make a small version for my granddaughter they can be wearing this kind in summer made with bamboo cotton yarn just perfect 😁 thank you so much Nora
That's such a cute bolero. Blush pink is such a lovely color, and perfect for a wearable, in my opinion (that could be from my getting more compliments in blush or dusty pink than any other color I wear 😊). Thank you for sharing.
just finished my first one, and now that I get the concept of how it's constructed, I want to attempt making one from granny squares! So easy to fold, too! Just make a little rectangle and she pops into the drawer! Keeping my eye out for some cute mandala yarn so I can make another!
Can't wait to have a go at this lovely bolero design, but I guess I should finish my Cleopatra shawl and also my Flower Poncho first!! (Yarn is ordered and on it's way though) lol
I love this tutorial so much! Not only the finished product itself, but also the way you explain every single step. You not only give the instruction but also WHY you did certain stitches the way you did them. That way you actually learn something and have more knowledge to use in future projects.
Thank you soooo much for this tutorial. I'd been looking for a tutorial for a top like this FOREVER!!! You explain it so well; super easy to follow along to. The pattern and the final result are absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to finish mine❤(I'm planning on making one for my mom and one for myself) Thanks again!
This is really a beautiful pattern. I always enjoy crocheting more when the weather gets cooler, so I was looking for a little project. I think this will be a perfect gift for my bff who's bday is in January. She lives in a warmer climate, but still needs something light for evening. Now to find the perfect color! Thxs for sharing💖
Lovely idea christina.i crocheted my wedding dress 50 years ago and I treasure the memory as I know you will too.every blessing with the making of it.💝💝
TY I have started my first one! 💚 Beads would be beautiful at the single chain middle part of each shell, or maybe all along one of the solid rows! Do the math and put all the beads you will need plus extra on the yarn before you start-is my ambitious idea🥰
Absolutely wonderful production in this video The timestamps are super helpful and also you've shown the final product so clearly (with a beautiful model). You'd be surprised how many tutorials are out there that don't even show the final product properly! I started making this yesterday and it's been a lovely make. Can't wait to see how it turns out - liked and subscribed - can't wait to see more of your work :)
Thank you Anja for such a clear tutorial of a beautifully modelled bolero. Now I have to decide which colour yarn to order that will best match my summer dresses 😊
I’m sorry Olga, I don’t speak every language in the world, but subtitles are available, click the cog in the bottom right of the video, and select your desired language, I hope this helps, Anja
Lovely, thank you for sharing this video! Great to learn how to build those rows on top of each other, and how to get back from shells to straight stitches.
Yeah i like this bolero when i came across your video & subscribed right away. Will be buying the materials soon so to start the project. Simple croptops i would suggest as well. Thank you.
THANKS I LOVE THIS ONLY I AM A PLUS SIZE, I WOULD MAKE IT ALITTLE LONGER((MEASURE FROM SHOULDER TO WAIST)) THAN MEASURE WAIST ?¿ THIS WOULD MAKE A BEAUTIFUL COVER FOR HOLIDAYS,BLACK, RED GREEN.

first of all...Miau greetings from cat to cat❤😻😻❤they love watching us while we are crocheting.😂 Very very nice ...the beautiful shirt and thanks very much for the exact explaining. All the best for your creative works. love Maggy from Switzerland 🇨🇭
I just started making this and everything was going just great, until I reached row 6 and it's not right as there's 2 chain spaces left where I should be placing my last sc, so I should be with just 1 left. Also I have now 19 shells, not 17 as you say on the video. I checked many times and everything seems to be right, I'm using stitch markers since the beginning as well. Could anyone help me? 🙃 Thanks a lot!
Without seeing you work it’s difficult to say, are you on Facebook? You can post your query there with pictures for help, link is in the description box, just remember to answer the joining questions so the moderators can let you in, Anja x
Hi kerosenequeen1076, it is more or less, but the best thing to do is measure the recipient from elbow to elbow, than using the multiple work out how wide you need the panels, hope this helps, Anja x
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much for this tutorial..what size would you say this would work out please? For slightly larger would you just go up a hook size? x
