Hey guys! I love using this cup pattern, but if you wanna avoid the gaps near the bottom, single crochet on the BACK BUMP for your first chain instead of the front loops :) That's the only tweak I make, and it avoids the gaps
@@ARTIMETROS "first chain" was referring to your first foundation chain :) so if you started with 2 chains, crochet into the back bumps of that entire foundation chain
This is a great pattern! As a plus sized gal with a large back (48C bra) I chained 16+1 for the cups and did 22 rows of sc to cover the entire side boob.
If the sizes aren't working for you, I recommend measuring from the base of your boob to the middle of the nipple and chain until it reaches that length. I struggled with this for a while and this worked great!
As Kelsie recommended, using colored markers is helpful. I used a colored marker in my first stitch at the base, another marker in my last stitch of the row on the other side of the base and another marker in the middle stitch of the three at the arch made the base straight and the arch lined up. So I have three markers in my cup at all times. I also counted from one end of the base all the way around to the other side to make sure I was increasing two stitches each time I went around. Great suggestion because it took me a few tries!
I have watched 1 tutorial for crocheting and so now I’m watching and following you fully saying in my head “poke, twirl, pull, twirl, pull pull” to remember how to keep doing the single stitch
I had always struggled with this, hence why only now, 4-5 years into crocheting did I finally decide to make a crop top for mom's spouse!! This tutorial was so well done and easy to understand!!
This was a bit confusing for me. I did it wrong a couple times and had to start over and destroy my work. I just think being a little more specific or giving more details of how you did it would have helped! But after many tries I got it. This was very helpful overall :) Thank you!
By far the best tutorial I've found on the bralette cup. Easy to follow and the end result is perfect. Only thing I wish was included was total stitch count for rows but after a few I cought on lol
I just wanted to say thank you tons for this tutorial! I've been really struggling with certain parts of this even rewatching videos what feels like a thousand times but finally saw your video! what a life saver! thanks a ton!
this has been the most helpful tutorial, i would get confused at the beginning and it always came out an oval shape instead of triangle. hopefully it doesn’t happy again 😔
This is actually so helpful. I watched another video the first time I tried and it was OK, but it wasn’t like I wanted. It was more round and the instructions were difficult to follow, but this is so easy and helpful. Thank you.❤
Oooooo I like this! I crocheted a really long chain, only worked the last 14, ( for two cups ) then worked around the rest to make a shirt- thing. Thanks for the inspiration!!
I've must have watched dozens of videos over the last few weeks and one of the shortest ohis thirdest ones was this 1 and also 1 of the easiest to follow thank you so much
I’m a rather seasoned crocheter, and even I had a bit of a confusing time trying to follow from the starting rows. I think it would really help if you say how many sc stitches you have per row. It just helps with overall continuity, especially if this is a tutorial. The sped up time laps are also not beginner friendly. This is a pretty good tutorial overall, but only if you’ve been crocheting previously.
Yeah it’s not a tutorial for beginners. If it were I would have taught about yarn and hooks and in depth descriptions of how to do the chains and stitches and increases but is implied that you should already know all these things.
just remember that you can always adjust the pattern to what fits you. I'm a DDD but I still did a 14 chain and 14? rows. my band size is only 30 so that was still what fit me even though she used it for a B cup. adjust for what works for you :)
i don’t know what it is but every time i follow a tutorial it never turns out good and you made it so much easier. I still can’t do it kind but you like simplified the stitches so we’ll keep it the good work!!
When I started mine would curve because I was accidentally skipping stitches at the bottom of my cup. You could use stitch markers at the ends or count to make sure that’s not the problem! Hope that helped :)
Ive attempted so many of tgese witg different yarn /cottons different hooks this is the first one that looks right and not like a sail flapping around....or like a madonna cone or a collapsed sock lol....thankyou so much ♡
Hi there! Could you possibly provide the measurements of everything? I know you say how many chains & rows but I'm using a different yarn so I'm wondering if measurements are possible??? Thanks!
I have been watching and subscribed to your videos and this one I was having the bra cup curling. That was when I realized I had to count to make sure there is the same amount of sc on the back of the chain also!
I was wondering how the sizing works in xs,s,m,l and more because im making some tops so i would just like some clarification on that please, thank you!
Is there any way I can make a cup using the lemonpeel stitch? And are there tricks on how to figure out the placement of the cups? I'd like to write patterns but this part scares me 😅.
Okey, this comment has nothing to do with this video but the first song, it’s in an add that we have in romania, so I stared to laugh for no reason😂 Love the tut tho❤
Hi there! Thanks for these tutorials, they are super helpful! Just finished 1 cup after many redo's as my first project and after that I would like to make the Lily top. As I was starting to watch the lily top tutorial I've come across a problem. The description in this video says chain 17 for a large and SC 16 rows. However, for a Lily top you're supposed to chain 16, and do 14 SC'S and one DC (and finish with 1 row SC). Is it a problem I started my cup as a 17 chain? Also, could I go a little bigger without adjusting the 17 chain? Because I feel like the cup would otherwise be a little too small for me, and if so, would you recommend going for even numbers on the single crochet or is it okay to go in odd numbers? Sorry for the many questions. I'm really new to this and I've spent 8h to complete the first cup. 😂
okay thank you so much for the cup tutorial! i’ve been looking for something to help me with this and this made it incredibly easy and clear so thank you so much, i am wondering if anyone can recommend a band pattern for an actual top?
Hi, thank you so much for the helpful video. My question for is once we do the second row of SC which loops are we going in? There aren’t technically any V’s to create the single crochets…So can you please explain how you’re creating that second row of SC on the opposite side? Thank you so much!!
When you do the first row of the single crochets only go into one side of the V, so that when you go around and come down the other side you can crochet into the other half of the V
Great video, thank you for the clear explanation. How do you keep this and other crochet clothing look nice after washing it? Do you wash them by hand, or together with other clothing in a laundry machine?
If you are a DDD could you just measure the yarn up to yourself from “Point A” to “Point B” to create the correct size? Would that be from the bottom to the center or ? Thank you for your help!
It depends on your band size usually, but I would make the chain the length from the base of the breast to the middle of the breast going right up the middle. As far as rows go make it as many rows as you need to fit!
Hi! your tutorial is honestly the one I've been able to best follow, I just have a question! For the second row, where we crochet on the bottom of the starting chain, do we sc into the chain we skipped from the first row, when we sc'd into the 2nd chain from the hook, or stop at the stitch before that one chain? sorry if that didn't make any sense 😅 that's just the one thing I'm unsure with!
idk if this helps but I did not make any chains when starting a new row and inserted my hook right into the first stitch where the yarn is coming out from. I usually make a chain and then insert the hook but I just followed what it looked like she was doing in the tutorial and it worked out
Do you use this pattern for your peekaboo(b) bras aswell? Cuz I really wanted to make one myself, but i cant find any instructions, so i wanted to do my own design.
I made my first bralette yesterday and the cups didn't go right, the centre on both were very pointy and didn't look anything like yours even though I did the exact steps you did
Hey there! I would definitely utilize stitch markers at the corners to make sure you are getting the right number of stitches each time you do a row, or you can count stitches :)
OK I'm confused. On the video you said for a A cup you made 10 chains,B cup 12 chain,C cup 14etc. On your description below you have other numbers. Which one is it?
hello !! im making one single cup since yesterday and I don't know how to do it, my cup looks as an oval , could you explain me please how to do It like a triangle?
Hey, I've stumbled across your tutorial and it's way more helpful than the others but still, every time I try to do a cup it ends up curving and I don't know what I am doing wrong. The bottom is never straight while the rest is perfect like you showed. I do chain one every time I arrive at the bottom.
Hey! Try putting a stitch marker in the first stitch everytime you start a row so that when you come back to the bottom you make sure to get all the stitches 😊 the cup does have a little bit of a natural curve at the bottom and that’s okay!
I use this way of making a cup in all of my original tank tops i make , if i wanted to start making patterns for my tops i make am i allowed to use this version of cup making? (‘:
Make sure you aren’t skipping any stitches on the ends, each row should have two more stitches than the last, I would suggest using stitch markers or counting
Hi! I have seen your comments answering the question of "what to do if it starts curl/cup too much" but I don't know what you mean by counting the stitches? Could you explain this a little more please...?
Count your stitches in your first row, then make sure each row after that has two more than the last. That way you know you are not skipping any. So say you start with 24 stitches, your next row needs to have 26, and then 28, and so on.
Greta video! Just a question though, so the original stitch like the one that you first put the 3 single stitches in do you come back to that stick every time and put your 3 single stitches it it? Or do you just put a new stick in a stitch above your last one?
When you put your 3 stitches in the top originally add a stitch marker in the second stitch (the middle one) and continue on, once you come back to that stitch marker you put 3 single crochets in the one stitch, then you can move your stitch marker up to your second stitch (the middle) and do it again on the next row. So each row you do you should be increasing your total amount of stitches by 2. If that makes sense :) So...yes come back to that stitch every time and put your three single stitches in it.
For some reason my cups always end up tall and kinda thin. I chain 14 and do 14 rows, but they never look right. I don’t crochet very tight either. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I’ve tried so many ways and nothing works.
