How do I get the pattern

Hi I wanted to check something with you. In the instructions on the screen it says in rnd 2 ch1, then 2sc in each stitch, but in the video it looks like you're just doing 1sc in each stitch. I did 2 and my petals won't work, I'm guessing that's why?
