my grandpa is from Madrid, but he moved to the us to stay with my grandma. But the reason why I'm saying this is because whenever they go to Spain they bring back SO MANY cans of olives

those moving things on top are called bonito flakes/katsuobushi. its just rly thin dried fish flakes that move from the heat of the food underneath :)
