Crochet - Drawstring Mini Pouch - Beginners Friendly Pattern 

Kept struggling to get into crocheting because nothing I made seemed quite right. Until I watched this video! Thank you for the perfect instructions, my pouch turned out great 🫶🏼

great pattern, thank you! the thing i don't get is why for every round starting round 4 you need to slip stitch in the last stitch, then slip stitch again in the space between 2hdc, chain 1 and continue the pattern, i choose to just chain slip stitch once in the last stitch and continue, this way the sides look more symmetrical

Hope you can help me understand: In the beginning, it was 13 hdc, then another 3 hdc into the last chain, then work on the second side. How does it end up as 26 hdc?

So for the second row (first row of half double crochet), why would you end up with 13 hdc instead of 12
