i would recommend using a significantly smaller crochet hook than what is recommended because the bag will end up being a lot more stretchy if you don’t if that makes any sense

If you use acrylic, that might happen. Cotton yarn is better

I love all of your tutorials. Only thing I would love more is if you would add how much yarn you use. The last tutorial I watched of yours (another bag) you didn't give the amount of yarn you used and of course I didn't buy the correct amount of yarn and had to order more. I had to wait almost a week to finish my bag. I thought I was gonna die. I was just so close to finishing. Now I want to try this one as a book bag, but not really sure I will. At least until I buy a lot more cotton yarn. Everything else about your tutorials are absolutely fantastic!

I use a 4 weight cotton and use a size 4mm hook and my bag is 16” wide. I’m going to try fewer stitches to get it to 12 or 13 inches.

When building the sides, is it 5 x 124 SC or also at the end of each row a slip stich + chain followed by 124 SC?

Hello. May i know each row for 10(1sc)+52(1sc)+10(1sc)+52(1sc)? Because my base bag did not rise to form a bag, instead of widening 😭 i didnt know how to explain if my step is wrong or not. If only this youtube comment can post a picture ☹️

you have to do 2sc in every corner. It´s easier to understand this way

The same happens to me.. Don't understand how to do the corners, the stitch number just increases for every round 🤔 Are we skipping some stitches somewhere?

Huh? Have u tried to follow ur own video or hav someone else...? Something is not quite right or a step or two is missing in creating the base. Is there an updated vid?

Maybe you should count your stitches if you think your base isn't right, the total number of stitches are listed in the video. Thanks ☺️
