Not only is this a lovely flower, its a lot of fun to make!

Gorgeous and I love that you use either a Boye, Susan Bates, or similar crochet hook. I was taught on a Boye when I was in 3rd grade but went to Susan Bates when a lady from my church used them. It is wild how a different crochet hook can be the same size, but have different sizes of projects. I love to use J Hooks by Susan Bates because I usually make big projects like bed covers with quilt patterns like, "The Martha Washington Star" or other quilt patterns I have converted on graph paper to know how many four color, 3 color, half color, and whole color squares to make different patterns. My biggest quilt-type bed cover I crocheted was for a king-size bed and it was hearts that were big, but had many different colors. I also try to use variegated colors to represent different patterns that would show up in cloth quilts. I even made pillow cases to go with them. But like everyone, even this old woman can learn new patterns and I can't get enough of what younger people are now making. I encourage crocheters to also bring back the, "Filet Crocheting" as that seems to be a dying art. It is just counting and using singles, double, and some treble stitches. They make great patterns for square throw pillows so beginners in, "Filet Crochet Stitch" can see how fun it can really be to do this older type of crocheting. We have a Filet Crocheted wedding gift given to my mom from her mother-in-law with both my dad and mom's names in the large Filet Crocheted back for a couch. We still have it and it is still in awesome condition and is now 54 years old!
