CROCHET GRANNY HEART SQUARE 💙 

My grandparents are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary in about a month and a half. I want to make them a blanket with a border of 65 heart granny squares. Wish me luck!

I started crochetting about a week ago and I decided to give this a go. Such a wonderful, easy-to-follow tutorial! Thank you so much!

heart granny square R1: slip knot, ch 4, sl st first stitch, ch 3, 12 dc in to the hole, sl st in to the 3. chain, 7 tr into the 2. chain, 1 dc, 2 dc x 3, first loop sl st, 2 dc in the same space, 2 dc x 2, 1 dc, 7 tr, sl st 3. chain, hook into the same loop from back and pull out the loop, ch 1 R2: slip knot into the whole before the sl st, yarn through the two loops, ch 3, dc, hdc, sc, 2 dc, ch 2 and 1 dc in the same stitch, 1 hdc x 3, 1 dc x 2, 1 tr, in one stitch -> 1 dtrc/ ch 2/ 1 dtrc/ 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, sl st front loop, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr/ 1 dtrc/ ch 2/ 1 dtrc, 1 tr, 1 dc x 2, 1 hdc x 3, 1 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in the same stitch, sc, hdc, dc, sl st back loop R3: ch 2, dc same back loop and then dc until the corner. corner: 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc everytime until the end. sl st to chain 2 and ch 1

This was very helpful for me as a beginner I have one question though how do you make the edges of your heart so smooth and solid ones you start squaring around it. The edges of mine got kinda lost in the squaring. 😅

Hello, do you have a pattern for a granny square that is exactly the same size but without the heart? I wanted to make a cushion with solid granny squares and this heart one, but I don't know how to make them the same size

this is definitely a rectangle, i know i didn't make it incorrectly 3 times in a row, stitch count definitely is off between the top and sides -__-

Does your chain 3 count as your first DC into the ring? Or do you do 12 MORE DC into the ring?
