I love that you said to go 18, 18, etc. because I was that person breaking out the calculator. lol it was such simple advice that I had no common sense to do. Thank you, you're a great instructor

An old family friend taught me the basic crochet stitches when I was about 5/6 years old. I have crocheted on and off for many years but have always crocheted by guesswork and never been able to follow printed patterns. Today at the age of 72 years, I have just completed my first Granny Ripple baby afghan for my twin great grandchildren which will be due around October. Thanks for a great tutorial. It was so easy to follow.

Samantha Lanz There are quite a few of our Gwynne relations in CoventrY so will keep the name going. 🙂 Nice to meet another Gwynne who crochets. I love these videos because I find it really hard to follow written patterns or charts. The twins arrived 2 months early and I was really pleased that I was able to make six lovely ripple blankets after watching this tutorial.

Wish you would do one that incorporates and actual granny square into the granny ripple. Also pattern listed below. Should it be chain 110 rather than 109. 18 x 3 plus 1 =55 x 2 is 110?

When your metabolism is working correctly (thyroid supplement if hypothyroid) you don't need lotions and potions to have smooth soft skin.

Why is this called a "granny ripple"? It appears to be a standard ripple pattern, with maybe a shorter distance between peaks and vallies. I was thinking you would be making a bunch of them, then joining those to create the afghan -- like you would with a traditional granny. Thanks!

i want to do a ripple afghan with 2 rows of double crochet and one row of granny ripple. i cant find a tutorial that has both in one. can you help? i tried combining two different tutorials but the number of stitches is different and extremely confusing.
@TheCrochetCrowd

Hi Chrissy, I don't have anything like that in my collection, nor do I know of a pattern that has that. It would require some R & D to figure it out to prevent it from buckling. Neat idea though.

Elaine Firth My name is Jenny. I can tell you how to save it, just the way I do myself. It is very easy: you will see below the video, there is written " share" you clic there and then, you click on " email ". A window will open and there you write your email address ant send it to you. Later on, you can go and listen to it as many times as you want. Good luck Elaine. .

Why aren't there printed directions for this? I'd really love to make it!
@Mzdiana82
@Mzdiana82 8 лет назад
Do the sample, measure it then figure out how many ripples you need for your desired length. I did the sample and mine came out to 15 inches long for 3 ripples. To make it wider just figure out how many ripples you need for the width and then chain 18 X how many ripples, plus one at the end. Hope this helps.
