I am likely doing something wrong as I'm very new to crochet, but I'm making the hat and the stitch counts you provide are not taking me all the way around. For example I'm on row 6, I've completed the sequence 3 times (for a total of 12 stitches) but I have room for 2 more sequences in the round. It happened in previous rows as well. What am I doing wrong? Also should mention my hat is also flaring out too soon at this point in the rows.
@jlgreenenough18 I think you are probably messing with the slip stitch, chain 1 method. It's confusing for some people, I even have to remember myself how to do it when it's been a while since not using that method. Just remember that when you finish the row, slip stitch into the first stitch you made in that row and then chain 1. Then start the new row in the SAME stitch you just made that slst ch1, because the slst and the ch1 don't count as a stitch, it's just to make the shape round. Some tips I'd give you to not get confused: 1. When starting a row, put a sitch marker in the first stitch you just made, that way you'll know exactly which stich is the first. 2. Count all the stiches you are making, for example when the instructions say "ch1, 15sc, slst to finish the round" make sure you made 15 stitches, no more, no less. 3. When you do the last stitch, notice it looks like there is one more stitch in the row, BUT that is NOT a stitch, it's the slip stitch, ch1 you did in the beginning of the row, that's why you should be counting the stitches so you don't accidentaly use the slst as an actual stitch, cause if you do, you'll be increasing the number of stitches every round and will end in a different shape. Chị ơi, sao em móc mũi kết cứ bị lệch vậy ạ, vd r9 (40) là sau khi kết hàng (chưa lên mũi bính) đếm lại là 40 mũi ak? Với lại, em làm ra sản phẩm cứ bị to ấy ko nhỏ nhỏ xinh như vd, chị giải đáp giúp e vứiiii, e đag cần gấp hmuhmu
Ý e hỏi là R9 của thân con ma á hả. Tới R9 là chỉ có 36 mũi thôi nha k phải 40 đâu. Nếu mà từ 36 e lên thành 40 thì chắc là do em móc vô chân mũi trượt đó. Nghĩa là từ R7 đến R15 vẫn giữ nguyên mỗi hàng là 36 mũi mới đúng. Em lưu ý các bước vậy nè: - Mũi trượt kết thúc mỗi hàng --> nhớ kéo chặt cho nó nhỏ lại và lát sau mình k móc vô chân đó - Lên 1 bính để bắt đầu hàng mới - Mũi móc đơn (sc) đầu tiên thì móc vào đúng cái lỗ mà em đã trượt mũi lúc nãy. NHỚ là k móc vô cái chân mũi trượt ở cuối hàng để tránh làm tăng số mũi nha Về kích thước của sp, thì chị k biết em dùng len gì, nếu là milk cotton thì sẽ ra to hơn của chị vì sợi milk to hơn sợi baby yarn á. Còn nếu em vẫn dùng baby yarn giống chị mà bị to thì có thể phụ thuộc vào lực siết tay của mỗi người, do chị móc chặt dữ lắm. Em có thể khác phục bằng cách dùng size kim nhỏ hơn của chị xem sao nhen
The dec in round 19 is shown differently than in round 20. 19 pulls yarn through 3 loops on the hook, round 20 shows 2+2. Is this on purpose? What is the difference?
You can use both ways, however in R19 we crochet into the back loop (BLO) so if you do a decreasing stitch like R20 it will be very difficult to pull the yarn.
