Ok... now you've given me the inspiration to jazz up the interior of my car! Life's to short not to drive around in style, right? 😊

Don't forget that most headrests are removable, so you can actually take it inside for measuring as you go.

What a great idea!!! You mentioned a steering wheel cover. I think that could be great too but it would need to be removable and washable, but it would be a nice remedy for hot steering wheels!

And if you make notes you won't have to measure it again when you see that great color of yarn that would look so so great in your car. Maybe a new color for every season or every holiday. I'm so loving your idea!!!

Hi Jen. I love the bright yellow yarn for your headrests. I can see some cute appliqués on them. I will post in fb the backrest cover I made last weekend for a 4 wheel walker with seat. I sure wish I would have used Premier Antipilling yarn, but I hadn’t seen today’s video yet. Oh well, I love the pink, purple and white variegated yarn I did use. Thanks for the tutorial, you know the car headrests are made to be removable. The bottom metal parts can break the window in an emergency. 😊🚗

You can remove your headrest, put your seat cover on. Then put the headrest back on. Thank you for all you do.

Wow!!! Never knew what acrylic yarn was made of. Decide to check and you are Right!!! What Is Acrylic and Synthetic Yarn and What Is It Made Of? Acrylic yarn is made from coal-based and petroleum chemicals, making them a fossil fuel-based fiber. The petroleum chemicals are treated with certain monomers (a type of molecule) that leads to the formation of polymers. Acrylic fiber and yarn are made from a synthetic polymer called acrylonitrile. A poly compound (a type of plastic).

You don't need to pull out yarn when you use a Yarn Jeanie. Yes the younger generation is into crocheted items now. My granddaughters put in request now, like hanging flower baskets to hang in their car and amigirumi pieces for their rooms, baskets and wash clothes, and I am more than happy to do them for them. Thanks for this tutorial I will be making myself a set and I'm sure a set or so for the grands whenever they see mine💛

Just have to tell you, I must quit watching you. You make me buy stuff!!! Just ordered a bunch of anti pill yarn. I was that lady with the cute, but pilled sterling wheel cover. This is very pretty!! I’d do one single decrease around, then a single crochet reverse as last row. It’s a lovely border stitch!! I’d like a steering wherk cover too, but as mentioned before, has to be removable fir washing. I live in the desert n my wheel is practically untouchable for about 8 months a yr!!!!

Love love that color its so cheerful and happy❤. Now I want to try and do me a dash cover and seat covers. Thank you for tell what yarn to use. I think k it would look so cute to do a seat cover, i don't think it would be hot, your legs wouldn't get stuck to the seat. That's what happens tome plus the seat wouldn't burn your legs when you get in. I just love it❤

If you used something like bamboo yarn or something cooler you could use hdc and make a seat cover for a baby’s car seat too ! Or an acrylic for winter time when it’s colder.

Its like crocheting with a friend this morning 😊. Now where was this when my 17 yr old was a toddler?? He had such texture issues with his booster seat it was unreal, especially in the summer and even though it was a soft cover already on it. My little guy has been whining alllll morning. I think its because our daughter has summer school and our son doesn't and he doesn't understand why she's gone all day while our son is home.

Jen if you decide to put one on the seat, instead of crocheting a tube like thing, just crochet a flat panel and add ties at the top and bottom. Every time Bentley cries my dog is looking around to find out where the sound is coming from.

@@CinnamonStitches I feel illiterate to this. I know it's easy but I have a pattern where you change colors and I'm not anywhere close to my granddaughter to measure her car and try it on. Her measurement of head rest is 8 inches length, 7 inches tall and 5 inches thick. Can you advise? Thanks much.
@CinnamonStitches
@CinnamonStitches 8 месяцев назад
Chain a multiple of 3 until you reach the 8 inches. Then do the gramny stitch in the round until its the length needed for her headrest.
