This is step by step crochet hippo lovey tutorial.

WRITTEN PATTERN:

You will need for this project chenille yarn called Dolphin baby from Himalaya or any other plushie yarn (120mt, 100 gr). You will need two balls for both versions (legs with or without knots).
Use a thin cotton or acrylic yarn (Camilla, Vlnahep) to embroider the face. You will need black and white.
Safety eyes with a diameter of 1.8-2 cm.
Also 4.5 mm and 6.5 or 7 mm crochet hook.
Stuffing, sewing thread, yarn needle, large headed pins, scissors.

@@tommyssheep From my perspective it isn't too bad, but would be helpful if you told how many stitches were at the end of each round. There were a few times when you got to the back part of the head where you just said single crochet to the end, but the exact count helps to make sure we have enough stitches and didn't mistakenly miss a stitch. This isn't a "beginner crochet" project. If someone hasn't ever crocheted they shouldn't really attempt until they've learned inc, dec, and magic ring I don't think.

I’m glad I saw this before finishing the head. I don’t read written patterns, and it’s misleading to make you think you are watching video for the entire project like every tutorial I’ve ever watched.
