I started crocheting in 2016 from your videos and here it is 7 years later and I still come back to your videos to remember how to increase 😂 my almost 7 year old asked me today to make him a beanie and I haven’t made one since he was about one year old 🙁

Thank you for your video. It is simple and very clear. I'm 81 years, I have crochet, knit and sewing since I was a little girl. I'm always doing something for the FRIENDS OF THE HOSPITAL in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal and now I'm visiting the family in Texas, USA. I was browsing through different patterns and I loved your instructions. Thank you again. Olimpia Costa

Hi! I just wanted to give you a big thank you for your hard work. I am 10 years old and I started crocheting when I was almost 9. That was in 2016. I started watching your videos when I was a beginner, now I’m advanced. I do hold my hook differently but it doesn’t affect the look of my projects! The way you hold it is complicated to me but someday I’ll get it! My sister is 5 and I’m thinking of teaching her crochet XD ilysm xx

oh my god, i saw this video and immidietly started, i wanted to crochet a beanie for my 4 year old cousin and this is perfect. all though a tip for other begginners; make sure not to get lost between the video and crocheting at the same time, it can be quite confusing. i kept getting confused and had to start all over again 4 times so this is technachly day 2 of me doing this but dont worry guys, with practice and patience u will nail it. dont rush at all it can ruin your stiches and the shape ( of the stiches ) wont be as even and the ones here in the video. thank you for creating this video :) i might start a buisness because i just found out how talented i am in crocheting because of u !

What a fantastic tutorial! Clear, simple, easy to follow, well explained steps! Well done and thank you so much for posting this! I am an absolute beginner, and thanks to your tutorial I managed to produce this hat first time. Okay, some of the stitches are a little messy, but practice makes perfect, and my son is only three so he doesn't mind... So many tutorials do fine explaining the first one or two rounds, then the explanations go too fast and the stitches are too quick. Yours was just right, with just the right amount of explaining and going over the steps and stitch counts. Thank you for taking the time to make and post this.

Gail Roberts If you mean hiding them when you've finished, you simply sew them into your project on the inside. Many of my tutorials show what to do at the end with the tail pieces so it's worth watching one to see.

By far the best tutorial I've seen so far. I've just done my first ever hat! Just one thing..This size fits my three year old but is not big enough for the 7 year old, is there anything I can do . I am using double knitting with a 4.5 mm hook as that's all I have to hand and it's lovely. Sorry if it's obvious, I am very new to crochet!
@HappyBerryCrochet
@HappyBerryCrochet 10 лет назад
Aww thank you so much Jan! The size problem is probably due to your yarn choice and hook as this pattern requires a thicker yarn and a bigger hook but you could try the next pattern up for ages teens to small ladies size using your chosen materials and see if that works better :)

Thanks for the tutorial. I have just recently taught myself to crochet, and for some reason this hat is coming out sort of square. Looks like a cylinder not a beanie? Hi. I have a light weight yarn with recommended hook size 4mm. Should i keep the num of stiches same or do i need to change something in the pattern?

Hi, love your tutorials. You mention to use size 5 bulky yarn, if I use two strands of 4ply yarn would the sizing be the same? I'm making a hat for a 5 year old. Thanks so much for all you.

Joyce Rosson Without seeing the yarn I'm unsure but you can double up thinner yarn for the same effect, it may end up slightly bigger but not by much, see how you go :)

Thank you for this tutorial... very easy to understand. However, may I ask why you you're only doing 2 chains rather then 3 to make a double crochet when you start your round?

Thank you for your kind feedback (^-^) I really just chain 2 for my own preference as I feel it feels neater but it really doesn't make a huge difference if you use 3 :)

***** I just finished the hat and you are absolutely right... it does make a HUGE difference. My finish product came out a lot neater. Again, a BIG THANK YOU to you. :))

Thank you for this free pattern. I will be using it for a 4 year old girl. Would you do all 18 rows, or less? It will be a gift, so I do not know the exact size of her head.

This video should be fine for a 4 year old. Head sizes don't change much between these ages, and she can always grow into it if it's too big! :)

the 12 month to 3 years fit on my 5 year old. But will be doing this one for her so she can grow into it. did the 12 month to 3 years for my son who I almost 2.

Loli Rock ? I started crocheting when I was 8 and now I'm 10. Some people have started at 6 years old. It doesn't mean you're the youngest crocheter. ;)
