Mandy Jane I totally agree. I‘ve learned chrocheting from her, even If I’m from Germany and not a native speaker😊. She‘s got the best and easiest tutorials on RU-vid plus she‘s teaching with such patience. Thank you💕
Thank you for the tutorial, and refreshing to have UK terms for a change! Didn’t make a basket, but used the pattern as a basis for a bootie to cover a plaster cast on a fractured ankle!
Thank you so very much. I've searched high & low for a flat oval pattern for appliques & baskets and your video was spot on, it's by far the best tutorial I've found thus far in written or video form. Thank you for the clear step by step instruction.
Hi Sarah Thank you for this lovely tutorail. This would make a lovely present. You have a georgeous baby daughter, just like her Mum. All the best to you and your family.
thank you bella coco for all your tutorials. Thanks to you I can now crochet.Really enjoying it too! Thank you for all your hardwork making these for us to enjoy and learn from. WE ARE ALL WITH YA HUNNI .:-) xxxx
I used this for nesting baskets for a baby room. Chained 10, 8, and then 6 (Lg, med, sm) The large one was a bit wobbly so I made it extra extra tall and folded in on itself and sewed it up, so now it's double as thick and well reinforced. I did the big one in grey with light blue trim on top and bottom, and the med & sm ones are light blue with grey trim. Your videos are fantastic!! I've gained a ton of confidence in myself and even opened an Etsy shop for my makes. Thank you Sarah
YAY! I started making Easter baskets last night and was looking for oval base bottom! Thank you for coming through for us!!! Love all your tutorials!!! ((hugs))
A great tutorial, managed to follow it all and successfully make a basket as my first ever crochet project having only learnt the basics at a 2 hour workshop last week. Thank you so much
thank you so much I followed this step by step first yarn was to soft and made some mistakes I had a type of yarn perfect for a basket and it is awesome thank you again
Hii!:) I am currently making a blanket for a friends baby girl. I lv ur tutorials n they have rly helped me to master crochet. This might seem a odd favour, but could you possibly come up with a tutorial for a peppa pig toy? My friends eldest 3 year old lvs peppa n I'd lv to be able to make her something she will always treasure. Thankyou :) Xxx
You could certainly play around with a different stitch; single crochets will work up much tighter and smaller so you will need to add more rounds to make the base bigger 😊
Tomy Sonnier beer will not stay cold with a yarn sleeve on it lol, that’s like putting a jersey on, go to the bottle store and buy a bottle and/or can cooler for his 🍺 🍺🍺🍺
Hi Bella, If I do 4 stitches along the base will it make the basket more circular or mess up the patten completely? I looked at other people's tutorials but they are not as good at explaining as you. Also I just love the terminology you use & your calming voice 😉😊 Thanks for your help Patrice
Hi! Thanks so much for all your videos. I didn’t know how to crochet at first but following your beginners tutorial got me going. I’m just wondering, if I wanted to continue making a larger base for like an oval rug instead of a basket, how would the pattered be? What do I keep adding on the edges? Is every row different?
You're very welcome, I'm so happy to hear my tutorials have helped you 🙂 If you wanted to make a larger base you would just need to keep on increasing by making two trebles in each stitch around the curve, until you reach the size you want. Hope this helps! 🙂
How do I make this bigger? Do I increase the base by continuing doing an increase every 3rd stitch, then following that an increase every 4th stitch? This is the only tutorial for what I want, but struggling to make it bigger.... Any help is greatly appreciated!
+Shirley Stokes First you'd have to increase the number of stitches in your initial chain. That would make the basket longer. That would mean you'd also be increasing the number of stitches you make in between the end stitch cluster increases. e.g. The current pattern calls for chain 10, leaving 8 stitches between the end clusters, plus the one stitch on each side. If you increased the length to chain 15, you'd have 13 stitches between the ends. The increases at the end actually increase the width. This is a little trickier as doing it wrong can result in a warped bottom. What you suggested sounds good to me, but I'm not a pro. If it doesn't work you can always rip it out back to where the problem started and try something else. That's the beauty of crochet - it's so easy to correct your work without losing too much of it.
To continue you can keep on increasing at the curved edge of the base, but you may need to work a longer initial starting chain for a really big basket 😊
@@bellacococrochet okay 👍🏻 I did something and somehow made the base bigger😬 I had made a wide head band but didn’t wanna use it so I made the oval base from this and joined them together. It has become a basket(little wonky) now. Thanks a lot for this tutorial 🥹
I’d recommend using stitch markers to help you keep track of the number of stitches you have; it may be that your initial count is incorrect 😊 I’d also bear in mind that crochet is quite forgiving and if you have one extra stitch along the sides, I wouldn’t worry too much.
I followed your video more in depth and realized I was counting the single stitch after the end curve as one of the side stitches. Since then it's fine.
Nicola Chester no in the last increase row, she was doing 1treble in one stitch, then 2 trebles in next one. If you wanna increase more then you have to: 1dc in one stitch, 1dc again into next stitch, 2dc into newt stitch. can you see the pattern now? 1dc, 1dc, 2dc into 3 stitches. if you wanna increase even more then in next row around the edges: 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 2dc in 4 stitches. hope that helped❤
Just lovely! Where did you purchase your cute needle case? I keep my yarn needles in an old pill bottle and would love a cute case like yours. Thank you for your tutorials. God bless and take care.
