If the yarn you’re using is around size 4 worsted weight and you’re using around a 4.0mm hook, I’d recommend making the front piece 9 rows of alpine stitches, the back 16 rows of alpine stitches, and the original starting chain on both pieces 31 instead of 21 so that it turns out the same size as it is with bigger yarns.

i just finished this lil angel recently! i made it slightly wider and longer in order to fit my phone no matter which way it's sitting in the purse, omitted the flap for a simple magnetic snap closure, and used the romanian cord as a strap. it's so cute and i love how simple it was to make. thank you so much!

I really liked this. I made mine a little longer though, but it's really cute. I didn't really trust the chains for the strap so I added single crochets as well, but overall it was great.

I'd say about a 1/3 skein of Bernat Maker Home Dec which is 317 yd. So roughly 150 yd just to be safe! You'll most likely need less than that, but I never wrote down the yardage I used for this one unfortunately!

that will be fine! if it is thinner and you're using the same row numbers/chains it will be smaller though! you can always adjust the size by adding more rows or chains initially :)

Wonderful tutorial! One skein can make two purses - I just made the second one last night! I’m in love with this yarn and bought more! If you have any other projects using this yarn, can you share another tutorial? Off to get some more magnetic clasps for the second one. My daughter in law will be getting the second one; the guinea pig first one goes to me!

You might just want to make it bigger depending on the length of the phone and how big you want it maybe that helps? Also yoru yarn and yarn hook can depend on the bag!

@@underwater3548 so you can use a steamer and have it pinned down or if you don't have a steamer you can do wet blocking. I wet my knits or crochet work and let them soak, get excess water out, lay flat and shape until dry.
