In January of this year (2021), my best friend of 36 years died in a car crash. Two days before, we found out her son and his girlfriend are having a baby boy. She didn't have a chance to make anything for them yet so I am making this blanket for them. Thank you!

Thank you for posting and sharing. It was a treat to watch your babies play. The orange tabby reminded me of my I had 33 yrs ago. He was very sweet, then the neighbor poisoned him but could never proofed it.

First, I must point out this pattern is exquisite. The Trinity stitch is such a nice dense stitch for a warm baby blanket. And the stitch makes for a beautiful blanket, too. The video instruction is excellent as well. I am a beginner, recently retired. We have a new granddaughter due soon and I thought it would be good to make her a baby blanket. The last time I crocheted I was a teenager and I had only made a few things so I had no idea how this would go. Unfortunately, it took me about 10 - 12 rows in to actually learn to critically evaluate the stitches and to catch my mistakes. I know I would appreciate more instruction on how to properly “read” the stitches to know whether or not there is a risk of a mistake, rather than seeing the mistake after crocheting another 5 rows. I had a bad tendency to forget the chain stitch at the end of each bundle in the Trinity stitch (I finally figured that was the source of my errors). So there are some imperfections early in the blanket…not too terrible but not invisible either. I knew when I had a mistake but wasn’t always able to tell what went wrong and I made some inadequate attempts to correct the errors without having to unravel multiple rows. Laziness leads to imperfections….that much I have now learned! The most difficult part of the project was adding the double crochet to the starting chain row when going around the blanket for the Alpine trim rows. It took me forever to figure out a way to consistently add the double crochets to that starting end (I eventually figured it out), although it was quite easy on the other three ends. Maybe it was because my starting chain was not done well because I was new to crochet…don’t know. Anyway, I am looking forward to following more of your videos and completing more projects. This was an excellent start. Thanks so much for sharing your skills and please scratch under the chin of each of your kitties for me. They are so precious and you are so lovingly patient with them.

I love your tutorials and I subscribed about 2 weeks ago....I know how you feel about crocheting with cats, lol. I only have one now as I had to let go of my girl about a week ago...I had her for 12 years and found that she had stomach cancer so , I had to have her put to sleep. She stopped eating and drinking, stopped doing everything. It breaks my heart ad I miss her so much...but she's not hurting anymore...I love watching your kitties get right in the middle of you crocheting. Both of mine did the same and now my little boy cat decides if I'm crocheting, he is coming up to stop me. Wants pets and seems when I put the crochet down, he gets down! lol He is 12 years old too, they were born a week apart. Thank you for your videos...they make me smile and I love the tutorials...

Thank you for your lovely tutorial. Made this for my first project. Didn't count stiches, dropped a few, the border came out like ruffles. But my little blanket is still beautiful and in the arms of my granddaughter. I'm making another one, and try again to make it look like yours.

Great pattern! Your cats are beautiful! I was having trouble getting into the chain stitch from the previous row so instead of closing the 4 loops with a chain 1, I closed it up with a sc(like at the end of the row). The sc loosened the stitch so I could get into it.
