Hello again! I'm so excited to share with you all my new crochet sweater pattern! It is a striped raglan sweater using three different colors: cream, pink, and brown. Please note that I made this sweater using my own measurements. If you want to make it smaller or larger, then you can do less or more rounds than I did. It was a fun project for me and I hope you enjoy this tutorial!
Project Level:
This pattern uses some intermediate technique such as color changes and working in rounds. I do go over every single that I do, so it is possible for more beginner crocheters to complete this sweater! This patter is made all in one piece, so there is no sewing involved. However, we will be attaching yarn to the piece often.
Stitches:
Slip Knot (sk)
Chain (ch)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Double Crochet (dc)
Materials:
Lion Brand's Skein Tones Yarn in "Peachy," "Ivory," and "Almond": amzn.to/3JOVkKQ
www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/p/li...
- Weight: Medium (4)
- Fiber: 100% Acrylic
- Approximate total length: 800 yd / 730 m
- Approximate total weight: 14.8 oz / 420 g
5.0 mm Clover Amour Crochet Hook: amzn.to/3noE9mz
Darning/Tapestry/Yarn Needle
Scissors
Dimensions:
Sleeves - 33 cm/13" long x (16 cm/6.3" - 7 cm/2.8") wide (measured from underarm to end of ribbing)
Body - 44 cm/17.3" long x 34 cm/13.4" wide (measured from top of collar ribbing to bottom of body ribbing)
Tips:
- Try on the sweater every now and then while making it to check the sizing
- Tighten your slip stitches to make the seam smaller and less visible
- The chain 2 at the beginning of each round does NOT count as a double crochet
- Pull your loose ends to the inside of the sweater and weave them in (or leave them hanging!)
Send me a picture of your finished sweater on Instagram @viv.crochets! I’d love to see it!
Thanks for watching!

I know you posted this quite a while ago, but I just wanted to thank you for how thorough and clear you were at explaining your process and how to complete this pattern. This was my first project after not crocheting for about a year and I immediately was able to pick up where I left off because of how clear your tutorial was, so thank you!

@@Julia-jc2oo it really depends on the type of yarn I've used! I've made it in a weight 5 velvet yarn and that has worked up pretty quickly, about a week or so. The weight 4 yarn ones were more like 2-3 weeks depending on how busy I was :). Good luck with your jumpers! Xx

Hi! Can you give me an idea of the bust size in in or cm, plse? Or how many sts to start off with for M/L, as this tutorial looks quite small. Thank you!
@zoeestella8984
@zoeestella8984 Год назад
@@AllGrowing so it depends on the yarn weight you use. But for me, I use her pattern of 50 for the neck and 100 dcs same as her as it gives a lovely fit. Then I continue until about row 12 or 13 and check the fit. Trial and error is a big part of crochet unfortunately. I'm a size m/l and found following this pattern fitted nicely up to a 98cm bust. It may differ for you tho! So be sure to try it out until you get the fit you like. :)

I am size 2XL and I made this sweater, here are some tips: 1. For the ribbings she doesn't mention this but is best if you use a smaller crochet hook or else it will look a bit wonky, I am still thinking of redoing mine. 2. Follow the same steps all the way to the armpit section, THAT is when sizes change, as I mentioned I am 2XL and instead of a chain of 5 I did 25, she looks like she is a size M maybe ? So maybe go for 5 chains more per size? Always make sure to keep trying it on, and that is not too tight around the armpits, once you know how many chains is comfortable for you,( just remember to keep an uneven number of chains here for later), then just keep the rows for body going as normal. 3. SLEEVES, in my size after I did 25 chains in armpit I first tried to follow the same as in the video but just as she mentions there was some extra fabric I didn't like there, so instead I followed the first round of 2 DC decrease, but then on round 2 I did again another 2 decreases on each corner and then round 3 I did only 1 DC decrease, and same 1 decrease until round 8 and then just let that be normal DC no decreases for me, til the end, when you get to the ribbing for sleeves, maybe try SC and then the ribbing w again a smaller hook. Mine took me 5-6 skeins of 240m yarn, and that was 4 colors, body and sleeves (2 white, 2 dark green and 1 orange, ribbing is 1 brown) I also did my color switching in blocks of 5 white, 5 orange, 8 dark green, repeated twice. Hope this helps! ❤

Does it matter what size/ply yarn you use? From a chart I found it seems like medium 4 is 9-11 ply wool here in Australia, but I could only get 4, 8, or 12 ply so I went with the 8 ply...which apparently falls in the range of light 3 yarn?

Hi i was wondering, at around 13:00 in the video you say that should reach the underarms, on mine with 14 rows it reaches below the underarms on the front and back but is significantly higher on the sides, is that ok? Edit: i also made 10 more stitches than the tutorial in the colar ribbing and did 4 groups of 30 rather than 25 in the “increasing size” portion if thats important

Thank you so much for this video and written pattern! I have just completed my very first sweater, hopefully with many more to come! It was actually fun following along - I expected it to get tedious fast, but it really wasn't. You explain everything really well. I have a question for my next sweater, though: I have noticed a lot of bunched fabric underneath the arms when I let them hang. When they're lifted, it all looks just fine! Is that just a property of raglan sweaters or can I maybe adjust the underarm chain to be slightly shorter next time? I'm a bit scared that that won't let me lift the arm once the sleeves are finished haha
