You are heaven sent I am turning 80 this week and I have always wanted to crochet and I found you so excited I have at last completed my granny square thank you once again I have found a new lease on life Barbara x
Hallo.Ich writing from Germany . Since I do not speak English and understand , I use the Google translator. I have the sunburst granny square refinished yesterday , only through watching . it worked wonderfully . you show the very slow and detailed. So I did not need the language well . This is the best guide video I have ever seen. Thank you and greetings from Germany . Susanne
I learned to do this granny square perfectly in a few days and I've never crocheted in my life. Now I am planning to make at least 50 total and make them into a blanket. Thank you so much. As long as I hear your directions I don't mess up, eventually I memorize the stitch. Thank You!!
Sarah-Jayne, I just wanted to say how delighted I was to come across your instructions and especially the video tutorials for the "Sunburst granny squares". I had been trying to follow on an American site, but the different terminology was confusing me. Being able to watch the videos has also been a great help. They are so clear. Thank you Sr. Leah Bannon
These videos were amazing! I completed my first ever blanket with your help. It was tricky, not perfect, and took months but, I did it! I gave it to a friend for her baby and she shows it off to everyone. Thanks so much
Thank you so much for making your tutorials so user friendly. I have just returned to crochet after about 25 years and have got back on track really quickly thanks to you. I am looking forward to watching more. 😁
I'm new to crochet but I found this easier than the simple granny square and this is how I came around to you your videos are so easy to follow I hope you continue creating brilliant videos.
Hello, I followed your tutorial for the basic granny square, very easy to follow, then tried this one, you are an excellent teacher, just the right pace for ever beginners like me to follow, fabulous.
Du erklärst so toll, geduldig und langsam, selbst ich als nicht -englisch -sprechender Zeitgenosse komme da mit! Und es macht spass, dafür ein abo, das hast du dir wirklich verdient 😊
Thank you for your tutorials they are nice and easy to follow, even being left handed I can follow the right handed ones as easy as the left handed tutorials
I am excited that I ran across your tutorials! I was trying to find "beginners granny square video" for a friend since I am unable to teach her in person and you do a great detailed job explaining how easy it is. Also, I have never made the sunburst granny square and will give it a try while watching your video. Thank you! :-)
Hi Bellacoco....I love this tutorial, just finished my first sunburst square and I am very pleased. Although, I don't know what to do about all the little strings on the back of my work from switching colors each time. Can you explain what to do with them or post a video on what to do with them? I am afraid to snip them off because I think my work might unravel then. I would appreciate it!
daelynnb425 Hi! Thanks for watching, I'm really pleased you like my tutorial. I have had many questions regarding what to do with the ends so I will defo get a tutorial up on that. But you would basically use a darning needle and sew them into the work. It can take a while to do so be warned lol x
Thank you so much! I have to say, I am really impressed with your tutorials. Even if you do use UK terminology, they are all so awesome. Also, thank you for responding to mine and your other viewers comments/questions, it makes me feel like you really do care about your fan-base, which a lot of other youtubers don't. :)
daelynnb425 It's something that i think is really important. If people take their time to comment- its only fair i reply! :) thanks again for watching x
I just love this video series. My only complaint & it's tiny, I just wish that you wouldn't pause and let us continue. I know that I am one of those that I need my instructor to just keep on going with me until that round is finished. I know it must be tedious, but it really is helpful. But,other than that, your work is always so beautiful. Thank you
Thanks so much I'm doing my 2nd blanket now. You have made it so easy to learn. I was wondering do you have a tutorial for baby booties and a baby blanket? I want to make it for a mum to be
I was going to attempt to make a baby blanket about how many squares do you think id have to make? I had some left over yarn also this pattern is very pretty an easy thanks bunches for teaching this tutorial
Again thank you so much. This is so gorgeous I have seen some patterns for this where the corner is linked by two chains and not three. Wonder what difference it makes ?
You're very welcome, I think it is one of those things that is down to personal preference - which one works better with our own tension and which one we prefer the look of. I would try both variations and see which you like best - neither way is right or wrong 😊
I really love your tutorials. I got that I am to use a size 4 crochet hook, but could you tell me what size yarn I am to use for the Sunburst granny squares?
Hello I was hopping you could help me I want to do 1 square just 1 but a big one I must say that I am a beginner I would like it to be 150cm x 150cm I want to do like a carpet for my baby I am planning to use a number 10 crochet and a very thick yarn how do you think I should start? Maybe you can do a tutorial? I am sure I am not the only one ! I love your tutorials they are great !
I am considering using this pattern to make a baby blanket. Do you know how much yarn I would roughly need to do this? Thinking of making it approx. 100cmx100cm. Thanks. Still loving the videos, have recently made a cushion cover using the tulip stich and am thrilled with it :D x
HI BELLA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS...THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL FOR BEGINNERS I WANT TO ASK YOU IF YOU PLEASE SHOW US HOW TO CROCHET THE AFRICAN FLOWER...IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I COUD NOT FIND ANYTHING ON LINE..AGAIN THANYOU
Love ur design:) can u tell me how much yarn of each color will I need for making 6ft. x7ft. Double bed sized blanket (blanket for 2) n how many squares also. Plzzz help me. I would love to work on it
nazia shaikh thanks, It's not my actual design- I'm simply showing how to do it. Gosh that not really something i could tell you to be honest, It depends on the yarn etc. Usually on the label of the yarn- it tells you the approximate area it can make. x
When you first make the circle after chaining 5, does it matter at all whether you go under the entire chain (both sides of the V), or just through it like you did in this tutorial?
It's really difficult to say how much yarn goes into one square as it depends on so many factors such as the type of yarn as well as your own personal tension. The best thing to do is to crochet one square and then weigh it to work out the yardage 😊
This video is so old that I'm not sure if you'll respond but will I be able to connect the sunburst granny square to a willow square? I'd like to attempt a large blanket like that.
It's possible but it does depend on the size of the squares, as they need to be of the same size to join them. The best thing to do would be to make one of each to compare; you may have to add more rounds of granny stitch around the sunburst square to make it bigger. You can then join them in the usual way, using the slip stitch joining method for example, which I have tutorials for 😊
