I have some pants like this. It doesn’t matter how my weight fluctuates, they will always fit. I’ve been through high school, adulthood and two kids with those pants.
That's actually how at least women's clothes were made in some past centuries (I'm not a fashion historian and I'm terrible at dates, I'm unsure which century or centuries it was). For example the skirt was a front and a back piece, sawn together and tied around the waist. So if your weight fluctuated, you only needed use some more string. I remember seeing it on Abby Cox' channel (unlike me, she is, as far as I remember, a fashion historian).
Was watching with the bf and he goes “she made them herself and still no pockets” 😂😂 Edit to add: we both still find the skirt adorable. It was just amusing because of the stereotype around girls and pockets
@@jaclyn.h.3031whiskey-_3 So true though 😂 my husband says women are too easily impressed by pockets, but he puts my whole water bottle in his pockets and says it's normal, meanwhile if I can fit half of my cellphone in mine it's already a win😅
Its really quite pretty. I never thought id ever see a granny square skirt in 2023! My mom crocheted the yarn was so much thicker when i was a kid. At least the yarn she bought. I loved her bkankets but the clothes... not so much. She could crochet in her sleep. Shes passed now. I miss seeing her with a blanket in her lap... rip mom we love you and miss you! ❤
I tried it out and it came out PERFECT!! Looks so cute! I used the colors yellow and white and it gives a really pretty vibe! Thanks for the idea 🙂 Holy cow 700 likes oh my god - let's get it to 1k 😺
Okay I know this is so picky but aesthetic isn't an adjective😂There are hundreds of different aesthetics, which each have their own descriptions. Aesthetically pleasing maybe, but not just aesthetic lol
Wrap-around shorts & pants were really popular in the 80's, including knit and crochet versions...I owned and made many...I especially liked them to use as swimsuit coverups
@@amydevera2504 the hard way, just undo one of the ties to be able to pull down underwear and re-tie afterwards. the easy way. just pull it and panties to the side...lol
I just wanted to comment and say that I really love your video essay, they are so interesting and comforting. I appreciate the work you put into them ! Please never stop ❤😂
Mind-Blown 🤯 I’m literally stumbling over everything to get to my yarn!!! I need a pair of these in my life!!!!! Thanks for the beautiful design and pattern!!!!!
This is so cute! And I love that there's a lot of room to play with different yarns, stitches, and closure methods. Would be fun to try something like this in a cotton DK or lighter.
This video changes everythiiinggggg I used to make shorts in the round but burnt myself out and never did it again 😂 this version is much easier to execute
For those looking for the full tutorial, you can click the little link above the caption on the video that says "▶️ the easiest crochet shorts" and I have a blog post too: thesnugglery.net/crochet-wrap-shorts-the-easiest-crochet-shorts-pattern/ thx for the love 😘
I’m totally gonna make this with regular fabric or possibly do lace crochet! Would you be able to make a pattern with the lace style crochet on these? It would help lots
I would guess stretching it into a square shape may help. I cant crochet because I struggle to see and cant get past the first chain without getting confused and not seeing the correct holes to put the hook in but I do loom knitting sometimes and when I had shapes meant to be rectangle that rounded instead I gently pulled them into shape. looked much better. you can probably get those granny square holders that hold stacked squares taut as you make each one. that should help you much better ! ❤ I wish I could crochet it bums me out that I can't especially seeing beautiful things I'd love to make for myself and loved ones. good luck love ❤
