Im loving how you’re documenting yourself making all your orders! Plus your long videos are great to crochet along with 😊 thanks for being so motivating
also I don’t think I notice last time but we’re in the same city small world!!! you also inspired me to start crochet but I’m only focusing on learning to make plushies!
Thank you! 😁 I hope you get your first order soon. 🤞🏾 I know how it feels waiting around for your first order, mine took 4 months, but if you stick with it, it *will* happen. 😊
Yeah, I've realized each plushie I make is going to be slightly different because of the nature of a handmade product. But I like knowing that even if I end up making 100 ducks, each one of them will have their own unique touch. 😊
sorry i keep having thoughts while watching lOl. Its so cool your first 3 orders were all international!!! I also made the same mistake w shipping when I first started. My first order i made maybe $3? Once i reach 30 orders im going to make my domestic shipping not free. youd be surprised how much ppl r willing to pay for shipping. Ive had 3 international orders and both the shipping cost more than the product. Luckily, shipping wasnt free for them lol
Aw, I guess the price went back up. 😕 I’d say, just keep an eye out on Amazon because as I said in the video; I was only seeing $100+ thermal printers, then one day this one went on sale. Another brand you could look into is Phomemo. I haven’t used it personally, but that is the brand one of my viewers said they’ve been using for over a year. 🙂
No need to apologize for your comments, I love reading them. 😊 Figuring out shipping has probably been the hardest part of starting my crochet business. Before I started, I knew Etsy had calculated shipping, so I was banking on using that. But then I found out that it wasn’t very accurate. So then I started setting my own shipping prices to be more fair to my customers, but it’s like; if you’ve never shipped anything before, how do you know what to charge? 🙃 So I just picked a price and decided to learn as I go. Now that I have a better idea of how much it costs to ship to farther countries, I can now make more educated decisions about my shipping prices moving forward. 🙂 I’m glad to hear you at least made $3 on your first order 😅. As long and you’re not losing money, I’d say that’s worth celebrating. 🤭
Also since the patterns arent yours, u should be including the pattern designer on your etsy and in the description. I'm assuming it was just an oversight but thats rlly not cool. This is me giving constructive critism not hating! just thought u should know
Yeah, I now realize that each piece I make is going to be slightly different, but that’s what makes it special. I could make 100 ducks, but they’ll each have their own uniqueness because they’re handmade. 😊
At the time of filming this video, I set my shipping price at $5. Since then, I realized I was charging too little; so I set a postage price depending on the country the customer is from. The farther the country, the higher the postage. The customers are shown the shipping cost before they finalize their order. I’ve linked the patterns in the description. 🙂
